The main thrust of my research over the past several years has been focused on the contemporary political economy of South and Southern Africa as well as the strategy and tactics of the main liberation organization in South Africa, the African National Congress, as well as mass movements in the region. I have published a book, (1997) and three chapters in edited book collections on democracy in the 'new' South Africa, international social movement struggles and South African labor history respectively. I have authored numerous articles in magazines and journals on a wide variety of topics, including labor struggles in South Africa, the theory and practice of liberation struggle, international political economy and the history of South Africa's democratic transition since 1994.
