Extractions: Choosing The Right Program From Vocational Technical Schools Can Make A Huge Difference To Your Career Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008 When the time comes to choose a vocational training program, the school and program you pick can make a huge difference in how well you succeed in your career. This may sound like common sense that the better school would mean you likely learn more and that you may have better job opportunities. However there is more to it then just picking the best of all the different vocational technical schools available. A big thing to look for is the type of program. This includes is it a degree or non-degree program. Is it simply a vocational training course where you would earn a certificate or some type of a diploma? Based on that information alone could be the difference of you being qualified for the job you may be dreaming about. You see some programs have very similar sounding names, but unless you talk to the school and find out exactly what is involved and what exactly you will get (degree/certificate) upon the completion of the program you may be in for a surprise. First dig into the career you have an interest in, then find out exactly what it takes to be eligible for an entry level position in that career field. For example if an associates degree is required, then make sure you do not sign up with a diploma or certificate program unless you know for sure that is all that is needed. Make sure to do your homework to learn the details and do not rely 100% on what a school recruiter may tell you.
Arizona Education Schools Arizona Education Schools, Colleges and Universities Links to Career Advancement Benefits of Career Education in Arizona . By Wendy Croix. Furthering your career in Arizona http://emol.org/arizona/schools/index.html
Extractions: By Wendy Croix Business is booming in Arizona, the state with the second fastest employment growth in the nation. Most non-farm workers in Arizona have jobs in services, wholesale or retail trade, or constructionand most of these jobs are linked to tourism. Manufacturing, too, employs many Arizona workers. As a result, reaching your career goals in Arizona has never been easier, since Arizona offers a variety of educational opportunities. If a BA or beyond will help you in furthering your career, Arizona's largest universitiesthe University of Arizona at Tucson and Arizona State at Tempe (with branch campuses in Mesa and Glendale)give you the education you want. Glendale has a graduate school of international management, if that's your style. You can get a top notch career education at Northern Arizona University at Flagstaff, ranked as a top university for Latinos. Arizona also has a healthy network of community colleges and small universities, if an AA degree or a more personal educational experience better fits your career goals.
Extractions: Vocational schools can prepare you with a technical education in a number of trades and occupations. While colleges and universities often require their students to achieve a broad education in many areas (science, fine arts, history, language arts, and social sciences) before they can select a major or concentration, vocational schools provide hands on experience to enable you to quickly develop an expertise in your chosen area. You might find that a traditional college education puts an unbearable strain on your finances, or you might simply lack an interest in pursuing a four-year degree. Vocational school offers you an alternative that’s less expensive and more focused. While many people attend vocational schools in order to become specialized mechanics or electricians, vocational schools offer training in more areas than ever before. You might prepare for a career in culinary arts, fashion design, information technology, radio broadcasting, massage therapy, or business. Vocational schools often pride themselves in their ability to place students into occupations in their chosen field. Oftentimes vocational schools give their students the opportunity to enter competitive apprenticeship programs. As an apprentice, you would continue to learn your skilled trade as you worked toward professional certification, and you would get paid for the work you do as you learn. If you’re not sold on the idea of spending big bucks and four years of your life at a college or university, you should seriously consider the career possibilities vocational schools can provide.
