A tourist pass is available for purchase that allows unlimited use of the buses, ferries, and trains. The pass is available for durations of up to 7 days. You can take any bus or ferry, but the trains are restricted to a specific area. It's still the best deal if you haven't rented a car and are planning on doing a lot of sight seeing. There are a million different ways to get around Sydney. Buses are readily available to take you anywhere in Sydney. We stayed in downtown Sydney for a few days, and in Glebe Point (a few miles away from downtown Sydney) for another few days. There was nothing particularly interesting about Glebe Point and I began regreting that I booked a hotel there. But the bus system made our stay pretty painless! Bus stops were available close by on Glebe Point Rd and busses 431,432,433 ran frequently to Sydney downtown. Since we were out all day it didn't really matter that Glebe Point wasn't as exciting as downtown Sydney.
