Yolo Audubon Society Based in Davis. Programs, field trips, newsletter articles, and birding locations. http://www.yoloaudubon.org/
Extractions: It is the mission of Yolo Audubon Society to foster an appreciation of birds and other wildlife through educational programs and field trips, bring conservation issues to public awareness, and act to preserve Yolo County bird life and habitat. Yolo Audubon Society will be conducting a junior bird count on Saturday, January 22, 2010. The brainchild of Sonoma birder Tom Rusert, this count is now in its fifth year and is proving extremely popular. It’s an excellent way to get children ages 8–15 involved in the natural world and to introduce them to the concept of citizen science, besides having a really good time and seeing (and counting) some great birds. Look for more information in coming weeks in the Burrowing Owl, here on the Yolo Audubon website, or in local papers. Yolo Audubon Society

Extractions: 26 October 2010 You are invited to join the Audubon Society of Kalamazoo (ASK). While we are a local chapter of Michigan Audubon, membership in Michigan or National Audubon does not automatically make you a member of Kalamazoo Audubon. All three organizations are dedicated to enjoyment, research, conservation of and education about birds and our natural environment. We encourage you to become a member at all levels. By becoming a member of ASK, you will be joining our nearly 350 members in our area who share an interest in and care about our natural environment. Your membership not only entitles you to participate in the activities listed below, but also helps us support our many programs and activities throughout the year. What we do: Offer informative monthly nature programs (September through April). Lead over 20 birding field trips to local and regional natural areas (September-May). Publish an interesting and informative monthly newsletter (September-June).
