The Mayerson Center brings together community groups to collaborate with its own Child Abuse Team in the investigation and treatment of victims within the " advocacy center ," a 7,200-square-foot facility. An average of six to seven alleged or suspected abuse cases are investigated here every day. The Mayerson Center staff evaluates, treats and prevents child maltreatment. The staff consists of Cincinnati police and sheriff officers, Department of Human Services workers and a victim advocate from the Hamilton County prosecutor's office, along with Cincinnati Children's staff of physicians, nurses and social workers . It collaborates and expedites the diagnosis and investigation of child abuse allegations. Mandated agencies throughout the region also can utilize the center and its resources. The combined efforts within the Mayerson Center include state-of-the-art diagnostic, treatment, prevention and training programs and cutting-edge research in the field of child sexual abuse, child physical abuse, child neglect and parenting.
