Mark Tester, a GM crops expert at Cambridge University, said yesterday that the scenario that was outlined in Fields of Gold was unlikely to happen in real life. But the BBC said the drama, co-written by the Guardian editor Alan Rusbridger and the novelist Ronan Bennett, was a legitimate portrayal of a theory that Mr Tester had originally advised was possible. Fields of Gold, to be shown on BBC1 on June 8 and 9, stars Anna Friel as a newspaper photographer who uncovers a conspiracy between a pharmaceutical giant and the government to cover up dangers associated with a GM crop trial.
Avicta Global What Are Nematodes? Nematodes are threadlike, microscopic, nonsegmented worms that feed predominantly in or on plant roots in virtually all environments in the world. http://avicta.com/nematodes.html
Extractions: Nematodes are threadlike, microscopic, nonsegmented worms that feed predominantly in or on plant roots in virtually all environments in the world. There are approximately 4,000 known plant-parasitic nematode species. Depending on the species and its population level, damage to plants may range from mild to severe. Nematode Threat Nematodes damage crops by directly feeding on plant roots, transmitting viruses and/or facilitating bacterial and fungal infections. The feeding process can damage the roots of the plant, reducing its ability to absorb water and nutrients. A reduction of root mass, a distortion of root structure or enlargement of the roots may indicate the presence of nematodes. Symptoms of nematode damage intensify during stressful conditions such as excessively dry or wet weather. Furthermore, nematode damage provides an opportunity for other plant pathogens to invade the root and thus further weaken the plant.

Please add more appropriate citations from reliable sources (September 2010) The Ontario Landowners Association is an organization which seeks to protect property rights in Ontario , Canada. The OLA was formed "...to preserve and protect the rights of property owners and to enshrine property rights within the Constitution of Canada and the laws of the Province of Ontario." The organization seeks to cause laws and regulations, whether federal, provincial, or municipal, to be written so as to be more respectful of the rights of property owners. The Ontario Landowners Association was founded in December 2005 by delegates from twelve pre-existing landowners groups representing different rural areas of the province. The groups had already been cooperating closely, and for the most part were modeled on the Lanark Landowners Association, which had been conducting demonstrations and other activities since early 2003. A parallel group, the Renfrew Landowners Association, had existed since 2000 and had started the slogan, “This Land is Our Land: Back off Government” that would be adopted by the Lanark Landowners and eventually by the OLA. But it was the Lanark group that first tried to move beyond purely local issues and to recreate itself in different parts of the province.
