This is an important antidote to those who criticize environmental education as merely an "ecology fad." The Sierra Club offers a free John Muir Day Study Guide , which helps teachers teach about John Muir as an environmental role model. In addition, the Sierra Club has launched the John Muir Youth Award Program in order to help children to learn about wild places and take action to protect them.
