This is the oldest house in Lacombe Alberta and birthplace of the Honorable Roland Michener, Canada's Governor General from 1967-1974. Located at 5036-51st Street. Open mid-May to end of September. Mon-Sat., 10am - 4pm. Also open by appointment Oct. to mid-May. There is no admission fee however donations are gratefully accepted. Call 782-3933 for more info. The most famous flat iron building in Alberta. Built in 1903-1904 by the Merchants Bank, this is the notable landmark for the town of Lacombe. Also has Interpretive Centre Museum displaying the fascinating history of Lacombe.
