Operated by the University System of Georgia, GALILEO, which stands for “Georgia Library Learning Online,” has been one of the leading resources in fields of digital research and is often used in many curriculum assignments. With all this online system has to offer, including interfaces that are designed for specific communities of interest, it has achieved a great degree of success during its tenure. Serving as a World Wide Web-based virtual library, GALILEO provides Georgians with access to multiple informational resources, including licensed products. Participating institutions may access more than 100 databases indexing thousands of periodicals and scholarly journals. Sophomore Kristin Taylor remarked, “GALILEO has enhanced the learning experience of college students not just here, but all across the state. I think it’s awesome that it’s getting the recognition it deserves.”
