These cramps are often the first signal that the body is having trouble with the heat. heat exhaustion : a form of mild shock resulting from the loss of body fluids through excessive sweating. Increased blood flow to the skin decreases blood flow to the vital organs. Heat exhaustion typically occurs when people exercise heavily or work in a hot, humid place. Signs of heat exhaustion include heavy sweating; skin that is flushed, pale, cool or moist; headache; nausea or vomiting; dizziness and exhaustion. If not treated, the body temperature will rise and the victim may suffer heat stroke.
