SuperKids Software Review Of Math Software SuperKids' reviews of four math software packages Math Blaster 1 In Search of Spot, Number Maze, Math Munchers, and Math Rabbit. SuperKids Educational Software Review http://www.superkids.com/aweb/pages/reviews/math1/sw_sum1.shtml
Extractions: SuperKids looked at four math software packages for young students in this comparison, and all were rated as good or better. All combine some form of entertaining activity with math practice or learning. But don't allow their similar overall ratings to lull you into indifference in your purchase decision. These programs are good for different reasons, and for different types of children. Read below for a snapshot of their differences, then click on the titles that interest you to see what our parent, teacher, and kid reviewers had to say. Number Maze [for ages 5 - 12] from Great Wave Software, is the most serious math skills program of this group. Users breach barriers in a sequence of mazes by solving math problems. The program incorporates individual child tracking, frequent rewards, and a text-to-speech capability for word problems (in the Mac version) that enables use by pre-readers. This program will be attractive to a broad range of children, but especially those that like mazes and problem solving. Math Munchers Deluxe [for ages 8 - 12] from MECC, is a math facts drill program cleverly disguised as a TV game show. Users select correct answers from multiple choices while under the threat of being gobbled up by Troggles. This program will be most attractive to children who like challenges and are quick thinkers.

SVN Octave-Forge is a central location for the collaborative development of packages for GNU Octave The Octave-forge packages contains the source for all the functions and are designed to work with the Octave package system. In general the packages are designed to work with the latest development version of Octave, but it should be possible to use most packages with earlier versions. You can find the list of packages by clicking on the Packages link at the top. To install a package, download the package file, and install it from the Octave prompt by typing pkg install package_file_name.tar.gz where package_file_name.tar.gz is the name of the file you downloaded. If you have questions regarding software downloaded from Octave-Forge, send a message to the repository mailing list If you have code to contribute, send a message to the repository mailing list or join the development team For convenience Octave-Forge supplies pre-built installers for Octave: Windows installer (Octave and Octave-Forge) Octave.app for Mac OS X
Extractions: Octaviz is a visualization system for Octave . It is a wrapper that makes all VTK classes accessible from within Octave using the same object-oriented syntax as in C++ or Python. Octaviz also provides high-level functions for 2D and 3D visualization. Using those functions, most common visualization tasks (3D surface plots, contour plots, meshes etc) can be accomplished without any knowledge about VTK. Although Octaviz is in active development, it already quite usable and stable. All major features of the wrapper are implemented: all VTK classes are wrapped, array exchange between Octave and VTK works, callbacks work and finally there is experimental CygWin support . Excluding language specific constructs, Python examples (included in VTK) can be used in octave without any modification. To help you get started, about 70 Python examples are converted to Octave and included in Octaviz.

Spatial Statistics Software free For estimating large-scale spatial autoregressions. http://www.spatial-statistics.com/
Extractions: Spatial Statistics Software and Articles James LeSage and I have come out with a new book on spatial statistics and econometrics: This book arose partly in response to questions by economists and others about interpreting spatial statistical models. We provide a number of motivations for spatial dependence. Specifically, we provide a time series motivation for spatial dependence as steady state spatiotemporal equilibrium as well as justifications based on omitted variables, spatial heterogeneity, externalities, and model averaging. We discuss interpretations of the estimated coefficients from these models and show a number of examples of their use. The book both ties together many of the articles that we have written on spatial econometrics and statistics as well as introducing many new results on topics such as spatial multinomial probit. At the moment I am revising the spatial statistics toolbox to incorporate some of the ideas in the book. I intend to shortly introduce Spatial Statistics Toolbox 2.1 which will incorporate bug fixes and later I will augment this with some new functions. OpenFEM ยป Home OpenFEM is an open-source software freely distributed under the terms of the " GNU Lesser Public License " (LGPL) co-owned by INRIA and SDTools. OpenFEM is a general purpose multi-physic FEM environment. It addresses people familiar with FEM who want state of the art performance with the ease of use of MATLAB. Easier learning and more user friendly access is provided by SDTools in the OpenFEM version integrated in SDT. OpenFEM by itself is thus mostly used by academics who are willing to develop in a non graphical mode. SDTools is the main contributor to OpenFEM but has collaborations with a number of other developers, who need to rely on an Open Source environment. No copy of the OpenFEM documentation is currently maintained on the web but you can look up the SDT documentation which includes the OpenFEM description at www.sdtools.com/helpcur/sdt.pdf The SCILAB version of OpenFEM is no longer maintained
