Although by her standards, she feels her time was not great at 5hr 15 minutes, she was proud of the fact that she finished. "I ran the first 17 ½ miles without stopping at all! After that, I had to take walking breaks.” Co-worker David Hensinger, helped Galemmo train by setting up a program which began in April running 4 days a week. “The day of (the race) I said… I will NEVER do that again!” says Galemmo, “But looking back, I really want to do better!” more...

Extractions: The PROJECT OHIO PLAN exists to promote the full state funding of Ohio's public K12 schools. Full state funding means the State of Ohio pays for and accounts for all State required public school activities. Full state funding requires the State to provide a very specific definition of "education". Out of this definition will arise a set of objectives to meet this definition. From the objectives will develop strategies leading to actions the State will require all District to do. PROJECT OHIO's Guidelines 1) State requirements must be very specific to State related activities. The State provides an education for future citizens to operate the functions the State provides. The State should fund these requirements with only State money. Athletic and cultural educational activities may be funded by money provided for local control. 2) In addition to State Requirement funding, the State will contribute a per pupil amount of money to Local requirements funds. The use of this money is completely at the discretion of the local district and may be used for athletic and cultural educational activities.. 2) All facilities used to fulfill State requirement are funded by the State and have a standard set of design and functional criteria.

SIRS Mandarin INFOhio is a growing electronic library and information network for Ohio K12 schools. By making electronic resources available through INFOhio http://www.biblio-tech.com/BTR900/January_2000/sirs_mandarin.html
Extractions: ALA MW 2000 Major schools sales for M3 and Databases SIRS Mandarin has a unique combination of databases and library system in its portfolio - giving them an advantage when approaching a large schools system with ambitions beyond merely automating the library. Recent successes have been in Alabama Indiana and Ohio schools. Funded by the Alabama Legislature and managed by the Alabama Public Library Service (APLS), AVL provides online database access to public K-12 schools, public libraries, two-year colleges and member institutions of the Network of Alabama Academic Libraries (four-year colleges and universities). The Alabama Virtual Library and the Alabama Public Library Service are pleased that SIRS has become a partner in providing high quality electronic information to the students and citizens of Alabama, said Dr. Lamar Veatch, Director of APLS. SIRS represents a unique product that is very well suited to the needs of our students and teachers. We see SIRS as a critical element in the structure of the Alabama Virtual Library. SIRS reference databases contain thousands of full-text articles and graphics from almost 6,000 domestic and international newspapers, magazines, journals and U.S. government publications. Database topics include global issues, economics, the environment, business, science, health, history, society, U.S. government legislation, culture and the arts and humanities.
