Extractions: George Washingtonâs Cherry Tree Paint your childâs arm and hand brown. Make an arm/hand print on your paper. Have your child use their hand to make green hand prints for leaves. Last you will need to use your finger or thumb to make cherry prints with red paint. Abe Lincolnâs Log Cabin Glue popsicle sticks side by side on your paper. Cut a triangle for a roof, a rectangle for a door, and a square for a window. Glue all these pieces in place. Glue the shiny penny on the square window to show Abe Lincoln looking out the window. Abe Lincoln Hat Cut the paper to fit around your childâs head. Tape it to form the hat. Take another large sheet of construction paper and make a small slit in the middle of the paper, pull this paper over your childâs head and tape the middle of this paper to the inside of your long tube that fit around your childâs head. This should look like Abeâs hat.

This forms the roof of your cabin. Next cover your cabin with brown construction paper using glue (for added emphasis use strips to make it look more like a log cabin). Next cut out two triangles to cover the angles of the roof and then cut out a door (don't cut completely out just three sides) and draw a square window on another side (other than the one with the door) - you can paint shutters around the door. Put a shiny penny with Lincoln facing out in the window or in the triangle of the roof. Finally, cut out a rectangle for the roof and attach it to the box. You can add a chimney or other details if you wish.
