Richard opened the shop in 1994 and has been cutting hair in Oundle for over 20 years. We offer a mix of traditional men’s barbering with modern styling and cutting to provide the perfect hair cut for young and old. Our aim is to provide our customers with a high quality hair cut in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The Barbers Comb is conveniently located in the Market Place at the heart of Oundle. Originating from a middle-class Johannesburg background, she later joined the Progressive Party, a moderate anti-apartheid party. In her late teens she moved to England to attend the Mountview theatre school. After graduating Glynis Barber worked in repertory theatre and had little parts in films and on TV as well. Her marriage to a fellow student, Paul Anthony Barber, only lasted for a few years. Her mother died about the same time and her death had a big impact on her whole life, as she later said. Glynis Barber's big break on TV was in the role of Soolin in the fourth season (1980-1981) of the British cult TV-series Blake's 7 . In 1978 she had already appeared on Blake's 7 as a Mutoid in the 9th episode Project Avalon . Her relationship with Steven Pacey , who played Del Tarrant on Blake's 7, lasted for some years after the show had ended. But according to various articles the relationship was well and truly over when her romance with Michael Brandon began during the filming of Dempsey and Makepeace Dempsey and Makepeace , in which Glynis Barber played the role of Det. Sgt. Harriet Makepeace, lasted for three seasons from 1985 to 1986 and was sold to over 80 countries.

Extractions: I got cast at very short notice and had 24 hours notice to learn 38 pages of dialogue for my first day’s filming which comprised an entire episode. Two new episodes will be aired in early April. I am excited about future storylines being planned. The first 3 episodes of my stint in The Royal were shown last summer. There are still 9 more episodes but I have no idea at present when they intend to air them. When I get any news on either of the above, you’ll be the first to know!.

The conversion of the Barber family , despite the prejudices of a Puritan education and environment, was one of the most notable and far-reaching in its results of any recorded in the early annals of the church in New England. Daniel Barber has left a "History of My Own Times" (Washington, 1827), in which he states that his father and mother were Congregational Dissenters of strict Puritanic rule and he continued in that sect until his twenty-seventh year, when he joined the Episcopalians . Previous to this he had served two terms as a soldier in the Continental army. In his thirtieth year he was ordained a minister of the Episcopalian Church at Schenectady New York . He married Chloe Case, daughter of Judge Owen of Simsbury Connecticut , and about 1787, with his wife, his three sons, and a daughter, moved to Claremont, New Hampshire . He exercised the duties of the ministry for thirty years without doubt concerning the soundness of his ordination , when one day the chance reading of a Catholic book opened up for him the whole issue of the validity of Anglican orders , by impugning Parker's consecration . This doubt was further increased by a visit for conference to the famous Bishop Cheverus , then a priest in Boston , and the inability of his Episcopalian associates to offer any satisfactory
