Size (3 folders). feet of linear shelf space (approximately 25 items) Abstract William Stanley Braithwaite of Arlington Heights, Mass., was a poet and the editor of the annual Anthology of Magazine Verse. He also taught at Atlanta University. Letters, 1923-1932, to Braithwaite, chiefly from North Carolina poets concerning publication of their work. Poets represented are Ruth Vail, Florrie Jean Lightfoot, Kate Downing Ghent, Charlotte Young, and James Larkin Pearson. Also included is a notebook, circa 1904, containing three pages written by Braithwaite discussing the difficulty of getting a volume of poems published without a financial guarantee and requesting advance subscriptions of $1.00 per copy for his Lyrics of Life and Love (1904). These pages are followed by six pages with subscribers' names.
