Evan Williams' TED talk: Twitter and Change
Evan Williams ended his talk at TED last week with a simple yet powerful statement: "It seems like when you give people easier ways to share information, more good things will happen."
True enough. He spoke on being open to seeing how your users change your product or service on their own, pointing out that Twitters users themselves developed the @ method of replying; that wasn't part of the original interface. And he points out that Twitter has grown far beyond what he and his team had expectedfrom short, personal updates on small life events to citizen journalism tracking the Los Angeles area wildfires to substantial fundraising efforts. In short, people are using Twitter to connect and communicate in ways that hadn't been possible without this technology. Garr Reynolds says he doesn't believe there is a "right" way to use Twitter,

Biography
American baseball player who played professional baseball from 1937, but had his career interrupted by five years of combat as a Marine pilot. Returning to the Boston Red Sox, he was voted the Most Valuable Player in 1946 and 1949. Two decades later, in 1969, he was voted Manager of the Year while with the Washington Senators. Later, he went on to become a fishing and game expert with Sears Roebuck. Suffering from congestive heart failure and several strokes, Williams was fitted with a pacemaker 10/29/2000, Hernando, FL. On 1/15/2001, he had open heart surgery in a New York Hospital and was reported to be doing well by his son, John Henry Williams. He died on 7/05/2002, Crystal River, FL, leaving a legendary 19-year career with the Boston Red Sox for his Hall of Fame inclusion. After his death, Williams' body was sent to an Arizona cryonics warehouse. Two of his children, John Henry and Claudia have claimed that they signed a handwritten pact with their father in 2000 agreeing that their bodies would be frozen But family member are divided about this decision and his eldest daughter, Bobby-Jo Ferrell, spent about $50,000 from her retirement savings in the following 16 weeks in a court battle to have her dad's remains cremated. The case had built up bills of some $60,000 of which fund-raising has only brought in a fraction and it may fall down to dismissal from legal bills. Ferrell withdrew her claim.

Example of work Williams, Ted Born in Texas in 1925, Ted Williams was raised in Kansas and Michigan and at a young age he served in the United State Coast Guard in the North Atlantic and the Western Pacific during World War Two. After his service, Williams studied art and music, playing the saxophone and clarinet before attending the Institute of Design at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. Using the artistically vibrant background of Chicago as his home base, he traveled around the United States and abroad during his career as a photojournalist for Time Newsweek Ebony , and Look magazines. Williams utilized his background in and passion for music when he covered the burgeoning jazz scene for Down Beat Playboy , and Metronome . A varied talent, he also covered the Vietnam War and the 1968 Olympics, as well as working as a partner and cinematographer for FORO 70, a small educational and documentary film production company.
From the early 1970s until passing away in 2009, Williams worked as a freelance photographer and cinematographer in Los Angeles. His work, especially with musicians such as Duke Ellington, John Coltrane, Louis Armstrong, and Tony Bennett has been recognized around the work and in 1996, Williams had a one-man show, “Jazz: A Chicago Groove,” at the South Shore Cultural Center in Chicago. His work was also featured in the “Images of Music: Classical Through Rock” exhibition at the SOHO Triad Fine Arts Gallery in New York City. Throughout his entire career, Williams stayed true to his passion and his art, as he once explained, “I just have a deep love for the music, the people, and the photography.” While his presence will be missed, his photography is an indication of the legacy he has left behind.
