Dangerous Player: Joshua Cribbs, Browns returner
November, 4, 2009 Nov 4 PM ET By James Walker NFC D. Jackson S. Jackson P. Harvin D. Williams (CAR)
AFC R. Brown D. Sproles J. Cribbs C. Johnson (TEN)
A look at the players opposing teams hate to see with the ball in their hands in the open field.
Despite a 1-7 start, the most dangerous open-field player in the AFC North remains Cleveland Browns return specialist Joshua Cribbs Tom Cammett/Diamond Images/Getty Images
Cribbs is tied with Percy Harvin of the Minnesota Vikings for the NFL lead in kickoff return yards with 860, which includes a 98-yard return for a touchdown. Cribbs also has 295 yards and a touchdown on punt returns this year, in addition to his many duties on coverage teams, receiver and part-time quarterback in Cleveland's Wildcat package.
The Browns cannot get the ball in Cribbs' hands enough, because he is the most dynamic and versatile player the team has. As an undrafted player out of Kent State, Cribbs has a mixture of fearlessness and old-school toughness that is hard to find.
There are several qualities that make Cribbs very dangerous in the open field. He has great vision for a kick returner, and he's big enough to break through arm tackles and fast enough to pull away from defenders. Cribbs also has a unique ability to remain at top speed while stiff-arming would-be tacklers. Many of his biggest returns have come as a result of this move.

Going with Shaub as the QB, Gotta go with A.johnson and Jackson. Johnson and Gather are getting the start but its gets tricky with My Flex and DEF. I really cant trust McCoy especially with a Chance Westbrook comes back. Do I dare think about picking up A. Foster the HOU RB as a Free Agent Both CLE backs are available as well. Def I wanna chose houston as well. Could it actually work with going Shaub, Johnson, Foster, and Hou D?.... lot of eggs in one basket.

History T HE ROOTS OF Phi Theta Kappa date to 1910 with six charter members under the name of Kappa Phi Omicron at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. The Beta Chapter of Kappa Phi Omicron was established in 1911 at Lindenwood College in St. Charles, Missouri. Societies and honorary groups such as these continued to develop until the spring of 1918. At a meeting that year for the presidents of junior colleges for women in Missouri it was decided that this honorary society needed to be organized so that chapters would all have common character, standards, and similarity of organization. The name for the honorary society for senior colleges being Phi Beta Kappa was influential in that the name Phi Theta Kappa was chosen and the Society was incorporated as a national organization in Missouri. In the next few years there were many changes. The constitution was amended and revised, and official seal was chosen, charter drafted, ritual created, song composed, and official pin representative of the Society adopted. In all this the Society tried to pattern itself after the example of Phi Beta Kappa. In 1924 a constitutional amendment expanded Phi Theta Kappa to all junior colleges, not just to women's junior colleges as it had been. In 1928 the Phi Theta Kappa Grand Council submitted a petition to the American Association of Junior Colleges (AAJC) asking that Phi Theta Kappa be recognized as the national honor society for junior colleges. As a result the AAJC appointed a permanent standing committee on honor scholarship societies. The resulting committee recommended that all honor scholarship societies forming in schools which were members of the AAJC should apply for a charter of Phi Theta Kappa, due to Phi Theta Kappa's fairly large membership. In 1929 official recognition was given to Phi Theta Kappa by the American Association of Junior Colleges; Phi Theta Kappa is the honor society of the two year college.

The Impact of a Grant-Funded Project on Selected Community College Teacher Education Programs
  • Patricia A. Cunniff Mary C. Belknap and Stephan Kinholt Prince George's Community College, Largo, Maryland Jackson Community College, Michigan Green River Community College, Auburn, Washington
  • Abstract
Recent concern about the quality and supply of teachers in mathematics and science has prompted a rethinking of how teachers in these content areas are recruited and prepared. This article describes a project, funded by the National Science Foundation and undertaken by Phi Theta Kappa, to strengthen the mathematics, science, and technology components of 36 community college teacher education programs. The impact of the program is examined on the basis of a survey of representatives from those colleges and the 4-year institutions that partnered with them. The article also examines the characteristics of 7 community colleges that emerged as the winners of a national competition on science and mathematics teacher education that was conducted as part of the project.

#10 DeSean Jackson Pos: Wide Receiver
    NFL Team: PHI
    Injury: OK
    Experience:
    College:
    California
Height: Weight: Born: Year Tm Gm Catch Yds TDs Tgt Rush Yds TDs Fum PROJ PHI PHI PHI SUMMARY Wide Receiver Rank: Overall: Jackson had just one more reception than his rookie season, but finished with 255 more receiving yards and seven more touchdowns. He made a ton of big plays in the Eagles offense, serving as their No. 1 receiver. Jackson had five 100-yard games and was targeted double-digit times six games. He is becoming one of the top big-play threats in the game, averaging 18.5 yards per reception last season. Jackson has a load of talent. He has great speed and the ability to break a big play every time he touches the ball. Jackson also has good hands for such a young receiver. He'll be the No. 1 receiver in the Eagles offense for years to come. And don't overlook Jackson has rushing touchdowns in each of his first few seasons. The Eagles find all sorts of ways to get the ball in his hands. FANTASY OUTLOOK Jackson is an elite fantasy option. He is capable of a monster game any given week because of his top playmaking ability. His value isn't quite as high in PPR leagues because he doesn't get the catches as the top receivers, but his yardage and touchdown totals will be among the league leaders. Another 1,000-yard season and double-digit scores seem likely for Jackson in 2010.
