Few science-fiction books leave you, once you have finished reading them, with more than a single idea to ponder. Ender's Game leaves you with quite a few. Add that to Orson Scott Card's remarkably flowing prose and you have a winning combination.
Personally, I was really impressed by the idea of public-opinion takeover by two children (Peter and Valentine) using “the nets” to disguise their real identity. But of the many ideas and concepts presented throughout the book, the most enjoyable (and certainly the most detailed one) is the Battle School. Ender's struggles against greater and greater odds are told in a thrilling way, raising a lot of sympathy in the reader. But if it was all about battle tactics in 3D, it would have been far less interesting. The mingling of other aspects of the military life, like command issues, make it really gripping. Let alone the idea of “breeding” military geniuses, monitoring them from birth, and having them go into battle as early as age six.
But while the military trainees' young age is what makes a lot of a difference, it also puts

When Orson Scott Card wrote Ender's Game , he focused on the character of Ender Wiggin. By doing so, he created a character strong enough to survive through three sequels. At the same time, the support characters in Ender's Game were relegated to the periphery. Card has now gone back to his original material to bring one of these characters, Bean, to the forefront in his new novel, Ender's Shadow Just as Ender's Game focused so tightly on Ender

Author Card, Orson Scott Title Xenocide Plot Summary: To help you understand the book better there is an important vocabulary word you need to know, the title. Xeno means alien; Xenocide is the total annihilation of a species. Xenocide is the intricate story of the fate of a planet and the people that live on it. Ender, his sister, and their family hide secrets of unimaginable proportions. Finding their secrets is a girl on another planet. Now life hangs in the balance. Will they be in time to stop two Xenocides before it is too late?
Review: Xenocide the the third book in the Ender series. The order of the books are as follows: 1. Ender's Game 2. Speaker for thr Dead 3. Xenocide 4. Children of the Mind 5. Ender's Shadow To understand the intricate world and life of this character you must start at the beginning. Speaker for the Dead was written for people who only wanted to read that book. I highly suggest you read Ender's Game though. Xenocide is the intricate story that plays with your mind when you read it. Each character and the story is expressed sharply and clearly with a realistic touch of humanity in them. I enjoyed the fact that there is more than one location of importance in the book. Even though this book was written for pre-adult readers I think any adult would FULLY enjoy it too. NOTE TO READERS: This book sometimes deals with situations that may not be appropriate for immature readers. Also some of the names are hard to pronounce. There is a helpful section in the beginning of the book to help you. They're not too hard, just misunderstood sometimes. Another thing to watch for is the Chinese names. The last names always comes before the first. An example is the name Peter Smith. In Chinese it would be Smith Peter.

Will university students soon be writing papers examining the question, "What group of people wrote under the pen name of Orson Scott Card ?" The list of OSC titles already produced is staggering, impossible to update, and already too many for three men to have written.
"Orson Scott Card" we'll write as if there is just one was born on August 24, 1951, in Richland, Washington. His parents left Washington to start up a sign company in San Mateo, California. Eventually his father switched careers and became an educator. Scott grew up the son of a college professor and always in the shadow of a university.
Books were always a part of his life, and he learned to read early. He was an intelligent child who got along better with adults than with the children around him.
He and his family lived in Salt Lake City, Utah while his father went to college. After that Scott spent most of his childhood back in San Mateo, California.
However, when Scott's father got a faculty job at Brigham Young University, they moved back to Utah, residing in Orem. He was a member of the Class of 1969 at Brigham Young High School, but when the school was closed at the end of the 1967-1968 school year, he went on to college a year early.

The sixth in the Ender series, this takes up Bean's story where Ender's Shadow left off. Achilles has kidnapped all of Ender's jeesh except Bean and is planning to use them to conquer the Earth. He has repeatedly tried to kill Bean. In an eerily plausible scenario, Achilles will begin his war in India and Pakistan. Bean goes to Thailand to try to stop Achilles and to mount Petra's rescue. By the conclusion, Petra is rescued, Achilles is dead, Bean knows that genetic factors limit the length of this life, and Peter Wiggin In the science fiction story Ender's Game and its sequels, Peter Wiggin is Ender's (or Andrew's) older brother.
