The most important characters are Mark Sway and Reggie Love. Mark Sway is a eleven years old boy, who lives in a trailer park in Memphis. His father was an alcoholic. He mistreated his wife, Mark's mother, with a baseball bat. She wanted to divorce. Mark told about his father to the judge in court, this convinced the judge. Mark thinks he saved his mother against his father, that's why he thinks he has to protect his family. He is the one that slips away to hire a lawyer for the family. Mark also wanted to protect Clifford. Mark sometimes has a weird way of thinking, because of the fact that he thinks that the many movies he has seen are heavily based on reality. Reggie Love is a woman around the age of fifty and has short grey hear. She is a lawyer and takes mostly cases involving abused, abandoned and adopted chil-dren.
