An artwork should feature enough subtleties that it encourages fresh inspection with each new visit. I believe, an artist should be a craftsman, so talented he, or she, is elevated to the level of "artist" the peak of craftsmanship. An artist should strive to raise his or her skills with each new project, and each new project should stretch his capabilities. It is my belief, that if an artist's new project requires a new craft or skill, it is the artist's obligation to learn that craft or skill, for only by learning, and doing his own work, may the artist discover the uses and limitations of new and different mediums.
