"Tales from Firozsha Baag" was Mistry's short story collection and was published for the first time in Canada in the year 1987. Background Rohinton Mistry was born in Bombay, India, on 3 July, 1952, in a Parsi family. Rohinton had his undergraduate degree in mathematics and economics at the Bombay University. He moved to Canada in the year 1975. In Canada (Toronto), Mistry worked as clerk in a bank. But at the same time he studied English and Philosophy part time at the Toronto University. It was while he was a university student in Canada that Rohinton began to write and publish fiction.
