Raleigh, 87, of Oakland Avenue, a supervisor at the Rolfe Street Post Office in Cranston before retiring in 1976, died Oct. 13, 2006, at Cherry Hill Manor. He was the husband of the late Mary I. (McAuliffe) Raleigh. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John and Catherine (Mullins) Raleigh. He had been a resident of Johnston since 1946. He was an avid golfer and a member of Melody Hill. He was a World War II Marine Corps veteran. He is survived by a son, Stephen of Scituate; three daughters, Joyce R. Walsh of Providence, Susan Huling of Warwick and Mary-Jo Brissette of Cranston; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and his extended Cherry Hill Manor family. His funeral was held Oct. 17 from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Greenville, followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Thomas Church, Providence. He was buried in Highland Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Cherry Hill Manor Patient Activity Fund, 2 Cherry Hill Rd., Johnston, RI 02919.
