Start with Fountainhead if you have time, Anthem if you do not. If you are a little more sophisticated and are a fast or avid reader start with Atlas Shrugged. Ayn Rand, born Anna Rosenblum in Russia 1913 (I think), grew up in post revolution Russia. She knew something was wrong. So she emigrated to the US in the thirties ON HER OWN and started writing plays and articles in her broken English. By 1967, people like Alan Greenspan co-authored books with her (Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal) . She is so brilliant, a think tank was established in her name Rand and a new branch of philosophy, Objectivism, was founded as a result of her.
