PAALAE
The Pan African Association for Literacy and Adult Education (PAALAE) is a non-political, non-governmental, voluntary partnership based in Dakar, Senegal. The Association is recognized by UNESCO and the Organization of African Unity (OAU). It is a founder member and, currently, a regional member of the International Council for Adult Education.
PAALAE is composed of national adult education associations, NGOs, institutions and individuals active in the field of literacy and adult education. It has its beginnings from the now defunct African Association for Literacy and Adult Education (AALAE), which was founded in 1984 following the merger of AAEA and Afrolit society.
The fundamental objective of the Association is to promote adult education in all its variety of forms and dimensions and in relationship to the need for healthy growth and development of individuals, communities and societies in the African region. In this respect, the Association shall:
  • promote literacy and adult education increase the understanding of the people and governments of Africa about lifelong learning by focusing on the relationship between literacy, adult, continuing and vocational education on the one hand and development on the other.

Meet the 2010 Inductees
The 2010 Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be conducted at the Sixth International Congress on Continuing and Distance Education in Guadalajara, Mexico , on October 28. The Congress is co-sponsored by the Mexican Association for Continuing and Distance Education and CREAD , the Inter-American Distance Education Network. The conference will be held at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara , under the leadership of Jose Morales Gonzales (HOF 2002). Twelve nominees from seven countries on four continents have been invited to be inducted into the Hall of Fame at the conference. The theme of the conference is "Continuing Education in the Era of Knowledge." Among the conference themes are innovation and pedagogical practice, e-learning, finances, quality and evaluation, and partnerships. The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be the main event on Wednesday evening . In addition, there will be a Hall of Fame session during the program that will feature newly inducted members.

Folk high schools
The folk high schools are residential schools which offer all kinds of general education courses.
Non-residential folk high schools
These schools help unemployed people develop their self-confidence and improve their possibilities in the labour market and in the education system.
Production schools
The participants are offered a combination of education and production programmes. University Extension Courses are offered in all parts of the country in association with the universities to bring the results of science outside the universities. Women’s associations These associations deal with gender issues, equal opportunities, unionizing women and collecting development aid for women. Welcome to Omaha, Nebraska.
This is the the site for Tom, Marlene, Ben, and Elisabeth Haskell of Omaha, Nebraska. This site is used predominantly by Tom Haskell who is employed by Buena Vista University at the Council Bluffs Center in Iowa since 1981. Tom, in addition to his full time administrative duties teaches courses on a part-time basis. For information see Courses Taught by Tom. Tom completed a Master's Degree in Education at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln in August 18, 1977. The University of Nebraska is also Marlene's alma mater.
University of Nebraska-Lincoln In 1970 Tom graduated from UCSC with a history degree. UCSC is home of the now famed banana slugs.
University of California, Santa Cruz Omaha, Nebraska is an interesting city with lots of restaurants and a few interesting attractions.
