Beloumi and Interpol
Despite this evidence, Egyptian Justice contacted Interpol issuing an international arrest warrant against the Algerian player, which has been denied leaving the national territory even to go to Mecca. The football star The World cup in Gijon in Spain in 1982 has long been affected by this situation.
The settlement of this case came after a conciliation meeting which took place last Tuesday in Cairo in presence of the President of the Egyptian Olympic Committee General Mounir Thabet and the President of the Algerian Olympic Committee Mustapha Berraf and the Egyptian doctor 'Abdelmounaim Ahmed Ahmed Abdelhadi,' according to a report signed by the presidents of two Olympic committees.
At the end of the conciliation meeting, Dr. Ahmed Abdelmounaim signed a letter in the presence of the presidents of the two Olympic committees (Algeria and Egypt), informing the Attorney General of Cairo of the withdrawal of any rights and any action against Lakhdar Belloumi according to the release.
In that letter, Dr. Abdelmounaim asks the Attorney General in Cairo to cancel the international arrest warrant issued by Interpol against Lakhdar Belloumi.

Early Algerian History The earliest known inhabitants of certain areas of Algeria were cattleherds and hunters living in the Al Hajjar region between 8,000 and 2,000BC. These may have been tribal Berbers. Phoenicians settled some of the coastal areas of Algeria from their north-African state of Carthage which was in modern day Tunisia. The first Algerian kingdom was established by the Berber chieftain Massinissa during the Punic Wars between Rome and Carthage which took place between the 3rd and 2nd centuries BC. Massinissa reigned over his kingdom of Numidia from 202-148BC and his dynasty lasted until 106BC when his grandson Jugurtha became a Roman client. As part of the Roman Empire Numidia flourished, becoming known as the ' granary of Rome'. A road system and a series of Roman garrisons which became small Roman cities were built during the Roman period. ( more from arab.net)

Dar Hassan Pacha
This palace was built in 1790/1791 by Hassan Bacha El Khaznadji (Pasha Hassan the Treasurer) who was the Minister of Finances of Alger's Dey Mohammed Ben Othman (1766 till 1791). As testimony of past, this Moresque palace still keeps the name of the Pasha Hassan. It is situated in front of Dar Aziza and adjoins the Mosque Ketchaoua. It is necessary to note that at that time the Minister Hassan Bacha to make sure the nearness of his daughter Khdawedj had acquired the Palace of Princesses Khdaouedj, a famous monument we will describe here later.
Well preserved thanks to long lasting restorations, this palace does not however look like it is original look ; mainly because of the major modifications brought to its facade when it was of used as Winter palace to the French governor of Algiers between 1839-1841. Hotel of famous hosts, the place keeps the spirit of the passage of NAPOLÉON III (on 1860 and 1865) as well as that of the President Emile LOUBET (1903).
This monument of the algéroise memory notably sheltered the Ministry of the religious Affairs in the 1990s.

Close Before the Arab conquest in the seventh century and the Islamization of the Berbers, Algeria was a Roman province. And before it was annexed by French in the 19th century, the Turks, who subjugated the Berbers and the Arabs in the sixteenth century, turned Algeria into a pirate state open to a multiplicity of cultural models during two centuries of Ottoman presence. The result is that Algeria's cultural reality is a mosaic, which is inconstant random motion and is recharged cyclically by an inorganic current which, in fact, reverses the discharge of organic current into a dynamic process.
Juli 1962 befreit.
