ROXANN LATIMER
Writer, poet, journalist, artist... Roxann Latimer is a writer, poet, journalist, and artist. But her day job she works as a Social Worker. Roxann is a native Californian, born and raised in Santa Monica, she lived in Los Angeles for some years working as a social worker before migrating to San Diego, where she lived for ten years. "During the time I lived in San Diego, I traveled to West Africa and Europe and started an import export business. I also taught journalism for at risk youth through a program at San Diego State University." She and her mother also started a non profit agency that began by housing homeless and battered women and today provides medical supplies and equipment to needing nations. "I can remember writing and illustrating my own stories when I was five years old. My mother is an avid reader and passed on the joy of reading to me. I read fiction, non fiction, history, mysteries, romance." Speaking of romance, Roxann will admit to reading romance novels since the age of twelve. "Romance readers share their books with friends and family. My favorite authors are Terry McMillian, Eric Jerome Dickey and E. Lynn Harris, but I cut my teeth on Jerome Robbins, Jackie Collins, Judith Krantz to Danielle Steele. Today I read a little bit of every body. I love James Baldwin, I think he was a master story teller. Toni Morrison moves me like Zora Neale Hurston. And my favorite poets are Niki Giovanni and Maya Angelou. I still read romances and love a great many of todays contemporary authors." Recently Roxann completed her second novel. MURDER MOST MYSTIC, a mystery romance and is finishing up an inspirational romance and erotica novel and erotica anthology.

Arizona immigration law sparks issues of morality
By Kenneth Brooks Government Race Critcal Thinking ... Send feedback » Edit... A society with a strong moral code needs only a few declarations of understanding and few laws to achieve a socially just society. On the other hand, an immoral society cannot promote social justice with a string of new laws, because the new laws reflect and expand its immorality. Therefore, the hundred thousands of laws, maybe millions, more likely characterize injustice in the United States and not fairness April 13, 2010

96. Collaborative Bibliographies: Description
Guide to online resources in The Canon and Modern Fiction, Dialect and Vernacular, Constructions of Race, Interracial Interactions, and The Harlem Renaissance.
http://www.georgetown.edu/tamlit/collab_bib/collab_bib.html
Collaborative Bibliographies
in American Literature
and Culture Studies
Rationale The Collaborative Bibliographies were generated from discussion and query threads on T-AMLIT (the "Teaching the American Literatures" discussion list). All of the bibliographies are comprised of the initial query by a member of the discussion list, and subsequent responses to those queries. The responses come in all sizes, ranging from a single line with an author and title suggestion to several paragraphs. The Collaborative Bibliographies make no claim to comprehensiveness. The great advantage of these bibliographies is their origin from a community of teachers whose collective wisdom puts most of the text, author and title information into some kind of practical and personal context. Directions The Collaborative Bibliographies can be read in two ways: they can be read from the Bibliography (a straightforward listing of titles with links to the original postings), or as Threads (the sequential files of the entire thread, including the initial query and all the responses). Bibliographic information contained in the T-AMLIT threads has been enhanced and filled out by interns in Georgetown's Center for Electronic Projects in American Culture Studies If you would like to contribute to one of the Collaborative Bibliographies, make inquiry to Randy Bass, (Georgetown University): rbass@guvax.georgetown.edu.
