Nepodařilo se zjistit původní uspořádání a sortiment dřevin, lze však předpokládat, že tu byly vysázeny jen domácí dřeviny (duby, buky, lípy, smrky). Některé z těchto původních stromů rostou v parku doposud. V letech 1792 - 1840 vlastnil panství Johann Albert von Ostheim. Jeho mladší dcera Anna Marie se provdala za Konradina Kreutzera, kapelníka vídeňské opery, který v Bílé Lhotě několikrát pobýval a v roce 1833 tu komponoval hudbu k opeře "Noc v Granadě". Od roku 1869 bylo panství majetkem rodu Riedlů. V roce 1926 přichází do Bílé Lhoty Quido Riedl, již tehdy známý jako odborník - dendrolog a začíná park přetvářet dle vlastních představ. Na ploše necelých tří hektarů esteticky velmi působivého parku soustředil téměř 500 druhů a forem okrasných dřevin. Do dnešních dnů se z výsadeb Quido Riedla zachovalo asi 240 exemplářů. Od roku 1966, ve kterém Arboretum přešlo do správy Vlastivědného muzea v Olomouci , bylo vysázeno téměř 300 dalších.

While taking in some of these celebrations, you may also want to visit some of the gardens and arboreta in Iowa. These gardens and arboreta celebrate the beauty and diversity of plant materials suitable for the state. Reiman Gardens in Ames is located on a 14-acre site on the campus of Iowa State University. The first 4-acre phase was dedicated on September 16, 1996. The Reiman Gardens include the John P. Mahlstede Horticulture Learning Center and several gardens. The rose garden contains many modern garden roses (hybrid teas, floribundas, and grandifloras), antique roses, and an assortment of the Griffith Buck roses. Other features include a dwarf conifer collection, herb garden, and numerous annual and perennial beds. Reiman Gardens are located on Elwood Drive about 1/2 mile north of US Highway 30. It is open from dawn to dusk throughout the year.

Many of the trees were arranged to represent plant community groupings (e.g., yellow pine forest, redwood forest, oak woodland, etc.).
