Welcome to MurderExpress.net! My name is Elizabeth and I've been a devoted reader of mystery/crime novels for longer than I can remember. Since I joined the DorothyL email list a few years ago I've discovered so many "new" authors I've become a regular reading machine. I wanted to share my discoveries with as many people as possible, so I decided to create a web site for fans and authors of the genre. This site will be constantly under construction and I will continue adding authors and more features on a regular basis. I hope you will find my selections interesting and varied enough to come back and visit often. Even if you only discover one new author that you enjoy, your life will be enriched beyond belief. If you know of any authors (or are one yourself) who would like to be included here, please feel free to email me with suggestions. Now, without further ado, ALL ABOARD the Murder Express!!!
Need a web site of your own and don't have the time or the skills to create one yourself? Want fast, friendly and reasonably priced service? Check out my Web Design Services and let me help!

I am, by trade, a crime scene investigator, forensic scientist, wildlife crime lab director, husband, father, grandfather, supposed cattle rancher, and more to the point, a fiction author who writes fiction novels about professional terrorists, underground chemists, demented burglars and malicious poachers for any number of reasons.

Stork Raving Mad
Meg is eight and a half months pregnant with twins when Michael asks if she wouldn't mind another houseguest. One of his doctoral students is directing his new translation of a play by a minor Spanish playwright, and the playwright has agreed to come to town for the production.
Senor Mendoza turns out to be a drinker, a smoker, and an inveterate partygoer. Before long, Meg's kitchen is filled with the smells of Spanish food and the voices of all the wilder souls in both the drama and Spanish departments. Into this chaos arrive two prune-faced administrators, the dean of the English department and a man from the college president’s office, who say that the play must be canceled.
When the dean is found murdered, Meg's house becomes a crime scene, and the only way to restore peace is to help Chief Burke solve the murders-while rescuing the student's dissertation and Michael's tenure-all before dashing off to the hospital to give birth to her twins!

by The Loft Writers' Center of Minneapolis Letter from Sujata The way I write these days is not always tapping the Mac or scribbling on a notebook. I've recognized the power of mental writing. What is it, you ask? Has Sujata gone insane? It works like this. Typically I brainstorm the day's upcoming pages while I walk the lake in the morning. If I've got insomnia, I envision upcoming scenes as a way of drifting off to sleep. And every now and then at 4:30 a.m., when my husband's stumbling around for his bathrobe and I'm trying to fall back asleep, a large portion of the book comes, line by line, just like listening to a book on tape.

Comrade of the Month ANDREI VOZNESENSKY DIES AT 77 Russian / Soviet poet Andrei Voznesensky died at his dacha in the writers colony of Peredelkino on 1 June 2010. Renowned as one of the most talented and popular of the "Sixties Poets", Voznesensky was born in Moscow on 12 May 1933. At the precocious age of 14, Voznesensky dared to send some of his poetry to Boris Pasternak , who wrote back to the boy, "Your entry into literature is sudden and stormy. I am glad that I have lived to see it." Voznesensky graduated from the Moscow Architecture Institute in 1957 and began publishing serious poetry in 1958. His works were characterized by an extravagance of simile and metaphor as well as a complicated rhythmic structure. His first two collections, "Parabola" and "Mosaic", published in 1960 were critically acclaimed both in the Soviet Union and abroad. But by 1963, Voznesensky had fallen out of favor with Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev, who harangued the poet at a Party literature conference. His uneasy relationship with authorities continued throughout the years; he received numerous warnings but also the State Prize for literature in 1978.

Drama On 3 – The Unfortunates Sunday 17 October 2010
8.00-9.30pm BBC RADIO 3
Martin Freeman stars as a sports journalist in The Unfortunates.

Martin Freeman stars in Graham White's adaptation of BS Johnson's novel, in which a sports journalist travels to a strange city to cover a football match, only to discover it was the city where he first met his friend Tony, who has died young of cancer.
The Unfortunates follows the journalist from his arrival at the train station, through lunch, to the match and on the journey home as different memories of his friend are triggered.
Originally published in 27 unbound pamphlets in a box, The Unfortunates was intended to be read in a random order. The lack of a fixed order is suggestive of the way memories occur, and the book becomes a meditation not just on friendship and loss, but also on the nature of memory and writing as the hero, Bryan, struggles to recall everything in order to "get it all down" as he promised his dying friend he would.
Listeners will be able to reshuffle the separate sections of the broadcast at bbc.co.uk/radio3.

Liz Byrski
Welcome Hello and welcome. Thanks for visiting my website . You'll find information here about my latest book Bad Behaviour , the other four novels and some of my non-fction books. Bad Behaviour seems to have hit the spot for many readers and I'm so grateful for your letters, cards and emails.
I'm currently working on another novel which I hope will be on the shelves early next year - so I'd better hurry up and finish it. Meanwhile do join the blog - I'd love to hear your views on the current obsession with looking young, and particularly all the ways that women are encouraged to think that there is something wrong with getting older and looking the age we are. I've written about it in the latest blog post. I look forward to hearing what you have to say so please do join me and see if we can get a conversation going on the blog
Many people in their 20s, 30s and 40s are writing to tell me that they enjoy the books and that reading about older people with interesting lives makes them feel better about the prospect of getting old. There is so much fear and distate about ageing in popular culture, and such a strong focus on youth that it's easy to lose sight of the fact that for many people this is the best time of their lives. We are an ageing population and old age will happen to all of us lucky enough to live that long. I think we need to celebrate the pleasures and rewards of getting older and avoid getting caught up in the negativity. So I'll be writing about the joys, difficulties, rewards and challenges of ageing for as long as I can.
