zSB(3,3) Q. I see the stages for baby foods such as 1st foods, 2nd foods and 3rd foods. I have seen different charts that tell when they should eat certain foods and how much of them they should get at each month, however, when I go to the grocery store, I see the labels that say 1, 2, or 3, and I get confused. At which age group are each of them for and when I should switch between them? How many months should my baby be in order to start each of the groups? Dez, Houston, TX A. This can be a confusing topic. The problem is that each company that makes baby food uses a different label for each 'stage' of food. Since these stages aren't standardized, the American Academy of Pediatrics, in their Guide to Your Child's Nutrition , advises that 'two rules apply across the board: Begin with stage 1 foods for beginners, and don't offer your child toddler foods, which often contain chunks, until he is an experienced eater.'

    Summer Squash or Zucchini
Summer Squash or Zucchini For Your Baby
There are 2 easily available forms of summer squash - yellow summer squash and zucchini. Zucchini is the green one that has the same oblong shape as a cucumber. Both of these vegetables will work for our purposes, and they are interchangeable in recipes. They are varieties of the same species so if you introduce one of the two then you don't have to worry about food allergies to the second. These are best eaten in the summer when they are the freshest and sweetest. Summer squash is very versatile. You can eat it raw or cooked, steamed, fried, grilled, and roasted. Summer Squash or Zucchini are in Week 9 of Babyfood101's Course - Please Join Us
    When is baby ready?
    6 months old
    How to buy
Look for firm squash that has glossy skin.
    Homemade Baby Food Recipe
For baby, it is probably still too hard in its raw state to serve, so you can steam it a little to soften. Chop into bite size baby pieces and place in microwave with a few tablespoons of water for 3 minutes. Alternatively, put in saucepan with enough water to cover bottom of pan and bring to a boil. They should be soft very quickly. Finally, you can roast some squash for yourself - see adult recipe below - and just leave the salt and pepper off for some baby slices.
    How to store
Stored in a perforated plastic bag in the refrigerator, they should keep for a week.

    Monsanto's Government Ties
"Agricultural biotechnology will find a supporter occupying the White House next year, regardless of which candidate win the election in November"
    - Monsanto Inhouse Newsletter, 2000
A Monsanto official told the New York Times that the corporation should not have to take responsibility for the safety of its food products. "Monsanto should not have to vouchsafe the safety of biotech food," said Phil Angell, Monsanto's director of corporate communications. "Our interest is in selling as much of it as possible. Assuring its safety is the FDA's job."
It would be nice to think the FDA can be trusted with these matters, but think again. Monsanto has succeeded in insuring that government regulatory agencies let Monsanto do as it wishes. Take a look:
Prior to being the Supreme Court Judge who put GW Bush in office, Clarence Thomas was Monsanto's lawyer.
The U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Anne Veneman ) was on the Board of Directors of Monsanto's Calgene Corporation.

    A new phrase
April One that I have not heard before, but I really believe can be applied to the ‘why’ question of people’s actions when they portray themselves to be "good, upstanding, Christian folk." A church is not a country club (or museum) for saints, but rather a hospital for sinners I heard it a few days ago, and it is still there rattling around in my head, so it must be a keeper. posted under Personal Quotes Comments Off

LOL does that say it clearly enough? He wanted to send my 12 year old back to live with me after 7 months he can't deal with him and now wants nothing to do with him. He really isn't THAT bad. So I asked him to wait until the weekend because I was working my first shift tonight 3-11 at my new job. So my husband gets a call from my ex's bitch gf (shes lucky I wasn't home) and she basically said she hates my son and wants nothing to do with him ever again and kicked him out with his stuff and made him walk to my house.

Often times assistance cannot be given to those in need because funding is short. Programs like the food bank, My Family enrichment program, emergency assistance such as meals, lodging and transportation have to be denied for lack of available funding. You can help us continue these services by making a tax deductible cash donation to Community Action Center. Donations can be made to a specific program or as a general donation that will be used where the need is greatest. For more information about our agency or about your donation please contact us.
