Hard days night for doubles teams
WIMBLEDON, England — It was a sporting version of from here to eternity, tennis almost without end, amen. It was a doubles match that didn't quite double everyone's fun, even the two guys who survived. The men's singles quarterfinals? They were interesting to a point. Roger Federer was perfection once again. There were a couple of surprises, Marco Baghdatis and Jonas Bjorkman also moving on. And on a Wednesday of rain delays, Rafael Nadal didn't even move onto the court. The remarkable thing is the doubles team of Mark Knowles and Daniel Nestor was able to move anywhere. They needed two days and 6 hours, 9 minutes to defeat Simon Aspelin and Todd Perry 5-7, 6-3, 6-7 (5), 6-3, 23-21 in the longest doubles match in Wimbledon and Grand Slam history.Six hours, 9 minutes, and two days.
Nothing is real, and nothing to get hung about…

Archipelago is a big word that means "a group of islands." There's a group of islands in the Caribbean Sea called the Bahamas. The Bahamas are more than 100 islands with a great history. Their location has made the Bahamas an important part of world history. Explorers, royals, treasure hunters, and even pirates have been at home in the Bahamas! The Bahamas lie just off Florida's southeast coast. Many hundreds of years ago, there were many European explorers there. Many people sailed from Europe to North America to find land and treasure. One of the first European explorers to reach North America landed in the Bahamas. You may know of him: his name is Christopher Columbus.

About the Bahamas: Geography
Home Library The Bahamas More on About the Bahamas The Bahamas lie scattered across more than 100,000 square miles of the western Atlantic Ocean. From a point roughly 70 miles east of West Palm Beach, Florida, the great archipelago extends some 750 miles southward toward the northern Caribbean, almost to the island of Hispaniola. The Bahamas from space Because the islands are no more than the exposed top portions of the Great Bahama Bank, an extension of the North American continental shelf, there are only three deep-water channels suitable for the passage of large vessels. Of the 700 islands and 2,000 islets, called cays (keys), making up the archipelago, only about 30 are inhabited. Some are little more than boulders that appear and disappear with the rise and fall of the ocean. Some are long and thin and stretch for many miles. Still others are home to thousands of busy people. The vast majority of the islands, however, are deserted, with pristine beaches and tropical forests that are untouched by humans. With a total combined land mass of less than 5,400 square miles, the islands of the Bahamas constitute one of the smallest countries in the world.
