Assists with "Breed & Release" programs to rebuild raptor populations across Europe.
We are a team providing a rescue service, 24 hour care and rehabilitation facilities for injured raptors. We provide a permanent, caring environment for raptors unable to return to the wild. We are committed to increasing rare species, and sharing knowledge and information on the medical treatment and rehabilitation of raptors. The Raptor Foundation is a bird of prey sanctuary and hospital. It is a unique and exciting place for children and adults alike to meet and learn about owls, falcons, hawks and buzzards in a 30 acre site. There are over 300 raptors and more than 25 species, many of which are threatened or endangered.

      November S M T W T F S You are here: Home Birds Of Prey Course - November 6, 13, 20 All bird lovers will enjoy the Birds of Prey Course presented by the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program. The course is held on the first three Saturdays of November. RMRP Executive Director Judy Scherpelz has taught the class for 20 years. “I present the class with explanations to match all interest levels,” Scherpelz said. “The more you know about birds and their environment, the more enjoyment you will get from watching them in their natural surroundings.” Session One: November 6th - Why Birds Are Cool – Examines bird anatomy and physiology, and why they do what they do. Courtship, breeding, population trends, migration, and environmental issues will be discussed. Session Two November 13th – Is That A Falcon Or A Hawk? – Explores individual species habitats and identification of hawks (buteos and accipiters), falcons, harriers, eagles, and owls. Photographs and live raptors will help participants identify Colorado’s raptors.
