Welcome to Shades Of Blue.....
Shades of Blue is very much a personal commentary on some of the great blues and authentic soul music produced from the 1940s to the present day - the power of the blues, the deep emotion to be found in the best of soul, the sheer inventiveness that came with popular success - all shades of blue in fact! BIO NEWS INVITATION ... Shop JMHF The JMH Foundation was conceived as a nonprofit vehicle to draw public attention to the hill country blues music indigenous to the Northern Mississippi region, thereby ensuring its preservation.
Many of the artists of this genre live in extreme poverty, some having already succumbed to sickness and old age. Many have not maintained sufficient shares of their publishing. Having lived their lives in relative obscurity, North Mississippi blues musicians are currently experiencing something of a renaissance.
The JMH Foundation recognizes this as an opportune time to raise public awareness of the region's rich musical heritage. The foundation is requesting public and private support to the end of producing an ongoing series of sound recordings from this area, the proceeds from which will provide assistance to those in need.
The JMH Foundation is dedicated to the preservation of roots music of the South. Its intention is to provide a means for this music to reach a broader audience and, in doing so, to benefit the community.
