The Book
Our Vision: One person in every family trained in the Clear Light Practices for the Dying. If just one member knows what to do, the whole family can be helped.
When someone you love is dying there is something you can do to help.
Training Classes The moment of death is the supreme spiritual opportunity. It is the dawning in the mind of the Clear Light, if only for a snap-of-the-fingers duration. There are very few, however, who know how to meet this opportunity. Even longtime meditators seem agreed that the best assistance they can provide is to meditate silently in the presence of the dying person, not knowing that there is a dynamic process offering profound assistance to the consciousness of the dying person. The Clear Light Meditation for the Dying is that process. A nonsectarian practice, it prepares the mind of a dying person for moving into an open dimension of radiant clarity. This enormously multiplies the possibility of not only becoming one with the light, but resting there for a longer duration, with inconceivable spiritual implications. The Tibetan Buddhist meditation master Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche declared this teaching a Mind Treasure suitable for this time and for people of all (or no) belief systems.

103. Buddhist Hospice Trust Web Site - Buddhisthospice.org.uk
Aims to provide compassionate care and companionship for the living, the dying, and the bereaved.
http://www.buddhisthospice.org.uk/
Welcome to the Buddhist Hospice Trust Web Site
"Be present, bear witness, and befriend..."
Trust works through a network of Buddhist volunteers to provide compassionate care and spiritual support for seriously ill, dying or bereaved people, their families, friends and carers.
We are a non-aligned, voluntary and autonomous association of Buddhists from any tradition or school, open to ALL who want to join, want to help, or need any kind of help themselves. Get in touch via document.write("help"+String.fromCharCode(64)+"buddhisthospice.org.uk"); help(_AT_)buddhisthospice.org.uk or 'phone/text 07951 869265.
The Trust is a "hospice without walls". We don't have in-patient services (beds) or provide nursing, counselling or palliative care. We can sometimes help by pointing to sources of specialist help in a particular locality, or by helping to negotiate for such support at home, in hospital, or in residential care etc.
Our volunteers make a commitment to 'be present, bear witness, and befriend' people who call on us for help. The Trust doesn't put its volunteers under any obligation to help, it's always a matter of "if you can and want to" - no questions asked. Volunteers are needed everywhere to maintain the "Ananda Network", are always welcome, and no experience is necessary.
We're also keen to hear from health and social care organisations, as well as from individual carers, nurses, social workers, chaplains, teachers, students or researchers about issues of mutual interest or concern. The Trust is a founding member of the Dying Matters Coalition, and we urge supporters to join
