  • CAMBODIAN GOVERNMENT FUNCTION AS SYSTEM
This is how the Cambodian government functions as a democratic country in order to serve interest of the people and the nation.
  • HOW CAMBODIAN GOVERNMENT FORMED ACCORDING TO CONSTITUTION
It is not different from other countries where uphold the democratic principle. The government is awlays established by the citizen of the nation in order to serve them for good future.
  • CAMBODIAN GOVERNMENT FUNCTION AS REALITY
However, the sysmetm really doesn’t work well because of the Cambodian People’s Party tries to paralyse it in order to preserve its status-quo in power as long as possible in the form of dictatorship government.
  • HOW HUN SEN CENTRALIZES POWER
In the reality, Cambodia doesn’t  belong to Cambodian people at all. It seemingly belongs to only Hun Sen, his cronies only, and his external matser. According to decentralized power system of Hun Sen, in my point of view, Cambodia will never develop herslf as fast as other country as long as Hun Sen control the country.  He controlls all political systems in order to preserve his demand and power. July 30, 2002 (Washington D.C.) – The Cambodian government announced today the creation of the Central Cardamoms Protected Forest, a 1,000,000-acre (402,000-hectare) area in southwestern Cambodia's Central Cardamom Mountains. The Cardamoms are home to most of Cambodia's large mammals and half of the country's birds, reptiles and amphibians. Two wildlife sanctuaries border the area, bringing the total land under protection to 2.44 million acres (990,000 hectares), forming the largest, most pristine wilderness in mainland Southeast Asia. The protected area was officially signed into law by Prime Minister Hun Sen. The declaration allows for the permanent protection of the Cardamoms. Government rangers, military police and community monitors are patrolling and enforcing forest and wildlife laws within the area. "This is a huge step forward for the protection of our country's amazing array of life," said Ty Sokhun, Director General of Cambodia's Department of Forestry and Wildlife. "Animals found virtually nowhere else in the world can thrive freely in our forests."

Cambodian Government Bans Documentary
By Steve Pond Published: June 07, 2010 @ 8:04 am Print this page The film, which had its European premiere in May at the Cannes International Film Festival, looks into the 2004 murder of Chea Vichea, a Cambodian union organizer who was shot while reading a newspaper at a kiosk in Phnom Penh. Trade unionists in May attempted to hold the Cambodian premiere of the film at the location where Vichea was murdered, but police stopped the screening and seized the equipment. According to a press release from a film representative, the government says that the film is an illegal import and denies that the action was politically motivated. In January 2009, the Cambodian Supreme Court provisionally released the two men. "This is what governments do when they don't want their own people to know the facts and when they can't afford to show weakness, even for an instant," Rich Garella, one of the film's producers, said in the press release. Bradley Cox is currently receiving treatment for a gunshot wound received in Bangkok, where he has been covering a Thai military crackdown.

In an effort to increase HIV/AIDS awareness among drivers particularly professional truck drivers, many of whom visit commercial sex workers while on the road the Cambodian government plans to add questions about the disease to the driver's license exam administered by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the Phnom Penh Post reports. The test later this year will include approximately 12 questions about HIV/AIDS. The ministry receives about 2,000 applications for licenses monthly, Keo Savin of the Land Transport Department said, adding that there are 1.14 million registered cars and motorbikes and 405,00 registered drivers in Cambodia. Cambodian Government Says no to Khmer Ro
by brooklynmonk Cambodian Government Says no to Khmer Rouge Movie By Antonio Graceffo The export potential of the current crop of Khmer films is zero. The domestic population loves to watch movies, but foreign movies and DVDs are leading in popularity, with Khmer movies falling behind. Because of widespread publicity on the internet, many Khmers and people around the world have heard of the film and seen the trailer on youtube. http://youtube.com/watch?v=VG8YLlVE8DI Most Khmer movies are either slapstick comedies, ghost stories, or romances where everyone cries. The question is, do all Khmer films follow these limited genre lines because this is all the audience wants? Or, do the Khmers watch these types of movies simply because the filmmakers fail to offer them something different? Mak believes that the Khmer filmmakers are afraid to take a risk by producing something new. It seems safer to stay with the established formulas. The monk was less forgiving. He attributed the low quality of Khmer movies to lack of knowledge and paralysis from political fear.

1999 NCC News Archives Cambodian Government Honors CWS Dec. 22, 1999, NEW YORK CITY Twenty years ago, when Phnom Penh lay in ruins after years of war and Cambodian people were in the grip of widespread famine, representatives from several non-governmental agencies flew in to assess humanitarian needs. "There was no electricity and no water, and the relief workers fanned out in the city then got back on the plane to bring back reports to their agencies," recalled the Rev. Dr. Rodney Page, Executive Director of Church World Service (CWS), the relief and development arm of the National Council of Churches (NCC). "But one representative stayed behind and lived there for six months: Perry Smith of Church World Service and CWS is still there." Church World Service was among 10 NGOs honored at a ceremony held in The Chaktomuk Hall in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on November 18, during which Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen highlighted the "close partnership and strong solidarity which exists between the Royal Government of Cambodia and the NGO community." In attendance were representatives from the 10 non-governmental organizations (NGOs), including Dr. Page, Ms. Linda Hartke and Mr. Howard Jost of Church World Service. Ms. Hartke served as CWS Country Director in Cambodia from 1992-1997 and is currently CWS Director of Programs and Operations. Mr. Jost is the current CWS Country Director in Cambodia.
