3. Kids Helping Kids | Canadian Churches
Dear Pastor, Staff, and Church Leaders, Greetings from the Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary College. I hope this letter finds you doing well.
http://www.csbs.ca/50_PR/Kids_Helping_Kids___Canadian_Churches.html
Back to the introduction page Home Dear Pastor, Staff, and Church Leaders,
We are writing this letter on behalf of our students to ask your church to participate in a “kids helping kids” project to improve our playground facilities.  We have a wonderful Seminary family with over seventy-five children in our seminary faculty, staff, and student family.
There are two projects we would like to implement for the children and families.  First, we would like to purchase and install new playground equipment that is age appropriate, safe, and useable.  We have a new and beautiful location set up for our playground, but we desperately need new equipment for the kids.  Second, we would like to build a kid-friendly indoor facility.  Because of the long winters, we need a simple structure that is lit, heated, and a good play area for kids.
Project Proposal: We would like to ask “the kids” of the Canadian National Baptist Churches to help us purchase new playground equipment.  If churches would commit to give their summer VBS Offering , we could literally put up a new playground!  If your church does not have a VBS, it could be a project for a Sunday School class, Kids Club, a recycling drive, or similar events.

The lozenge shape evokes an upended fish, symbol of the earliest Christian church. (The initials of the phrase "Jesus Christ, Son of God, Saviour" in Greek spell [icthyos], which means "fish".) The central X, a cross of St. Andrew , is also the Greek letter Chi, first letter of , Greek for "Christ". Within the four quadrants are the symbols of the founding churches: Presbyterianism (the burning bush), Methodism (the dove) and Congregationalism (the open Bible). Canadian churches face property seizures in suits
National Catholic Reporter Nov 17, 2000 by GERRY McCARTHY
Cariboo diocese told to produce list of paintings, jewelry The prospect of mainline Christian churches going bankrupt in North America seems bizarre to many people. But at least two Catholic dioceses in the United States have warned in recent years that bankruptcy could be in the offing, and an Anglican diocese in Canada said it has no choice but to file. Already the Cariboo diocese in British Columbia has been ordered to produce a list of its paintings and jewelry. Diocesan officials said liquid assets are gone and the diocese is faring government seizure of all its properties, including 73 graveyards, according to recent news reports. As in the U.S. dioceses of Santa Fe, N.M., and Dallas in recent years, the financial resources of Canada's four mainstream churches are under serious threat from lawsuits related to sex abuse claims. In Canada, thousands of suits have been filed by former Indian boarding school students claiming sexual, psychological and "cultural" abuse. Most of the residential school lawsuits were filed against the government and didn't name the churches. But the government has drawn the churches into the process by naming them as third-party defendants.
