The general rule on naming applies. That means: the parties are named in the English translation and the original native name is placed on the first line of the article unless the native form is more commonly used in English than the English form. Rationale and specifics: See: Wikipedia:Naming conventions (use English)
In contrast with the political party systems of many nations, Canadian parties at the federal level are often only loosely connected with parties at the provincial level, despite having similar names.

    Canadian Federally Registered Political Parties
Canada's political system is varied and exciting. Canada is a constitutional monarchy that utilizes a federal system of parliamentary government modeled on the United Kingdom's Westminster parliament with some homegrown variations of course. In Canada citizens of the age of 18 and older can vote in federal elections once registered as a voter. At present there are only two people in Canada who cannot vote and they are the Chief Electoral Officer, and the Deputy Chief Electoral Officer. Canadian elections and political parties are overseen by Elections Canada. Elections Canada is an independent agency that reports directly to the Canadian Parliament. According to the Canada Elections Act a political party is defined as, "an organization one of whose fundamental purposes is to participate in public affairs by endorsing one or more of its members as candidates and supporting their election." To qualify as a federally registered political party in Canada, the political party must adhere to Elections Canada guidelines as stipulated under the Canada Elections Act. Under the Elections Act, to be considered a federally registered political party, the eligible party must have meet all legal requirements including the signed membership declarations of 250 members and it must have endorsed one or more confirmed candidates for a general election or by-election.

    A Critical Comparison
Prepared by the CIC Research Department
September 2006 Israel and Canada are often accurately portrayed as "fellow democracies." Both have enshrined in their political cultures basic precepts of democracy. These include constitutionally guaranteed freedoms of speech and assembly, universal suffrage, multiparty electoral systems, respect for human rights, a professional civil service, and the hallmark "checks and balances" on political power, such as an independent judiciary, independent press and independent police force. While Canada has a bicameral parliament, comprised of the House of Commons and the Senate, Israel's legislative system is unicameral, centred exclusively around the Knesset. The members of the House of Commons are chosen directly through a constituency-based "first past the post" electoral system, and the senators are appointed by the prime minister, in consultation with the provincial premiers. The members of Israel's 120-seat Knesset are elected in an indirect manner, with their entry to the Knesset determined by their placement on party lists. Unlike Canada, which is divided into 308 separate ridings, all of Israel is one big riding. The number of Knesset seats won by a party is based on its share of the popular vote.

Canada has a multi-party system in which many of the country's legislative practices derive from the unwritten conventions of and precedents set by the United Kingdom 's Westminster Parliament . However, Canada has evolved variations: party discipline in Canada is stronger than in the United Kingdom and more parliamentary votes are considered motions of confidence , which tends to diminish the role of non-Cabinet Members of Parliament (MPs). Such members, in the government

    Political History of Canada
[This text was written in 1948. For the full citation, see the end of the text.] Political history in Canada , as distinct from constitutional history, may be described as the history of political parties. In a sense, there have been political parties in Canada ever since, in 1608, some of Champlain 's men plotted to murder him, and hand over the newly founded settlement of Quebec to the Basques. At a later date, there was a widespread division of opinion in New France between those who supported Frontenac's attitude toward the use of firewater among the Indians and those who supported Laval's Reformers "; though in Lower Canada at a later date, because of the racial twist given to the political struggle, they came to be known as "Anti-bureaucrates" or " Patriotes ". At various times, the Reformers obtained a majority in the Legislative Assemblies of the various provinces of British North America , and in such cases they were able to elect the speaker of the Assembly a fact which predicated a certain amount of organization. On the other hand, when the "
