Charter School Standards. Introduction. Any certified instructor of the GMAU may charter a school, teaching the gospel and their system of martial arts

Charter School Standards
Introduction
Any certified instructor of the GMAU may charter a school, teaching the gospel and their system of martial arts to others. Although these schools will vary from small clubs to large academies, each school must follow the standards of the GMAU. If it is learned that any GMAU instructor is falling short of these standards (proven evidence of teachings, conduct, misrepresentation, or other, not in keeping with standards set by the GMAU) their certification will be revoked.
Charter Standards
  • Each school must be run by a certified GMAU instructor Each school must be sponsored by a church, which adheres to the fundamentals of the faith as identified in the "Doctrinal Position" of the GMAU. A letter from the pastor, written on church letterhead, must be on record with the GMAU. The role of the church is to keep the school spiritually accountable. Hence, the school must make a report to its sponsor church at least once a year regarding the current state of the ministry. Each school must teach a Martial Arts system that has been approved by the GMAU. The system taught may either be a supported Ryu, or another system that meets the

Please improve this article and discuss the issue on the talk page Education reform in the United States since the 1980s has been largely driven by the setting of academic standards for what students should know and be able to do. These standards can then be used to guide all other system components. The standards-based reform movement calls for clear, measurable standards for all school students. Rather than norm-referenced rankings, a standards-based system measures each student against the concrete standard, instead of measuring how well the student performed compared to others. Curriculum, assessments, and professional development are aligned to the standards.

Unsourced material may be challenged and removed (October 2009) Standards are an evolution of the earlier Outcomes-based education which was largely rejected in the United States as unworkable in the 1990s, and is still being implemented by some and abandoned by other governments in Australia by the 2000s. The original model of OBE, which has met with large scale failures, attempted to completely change the structure of education and grading by massively individualizing instruction. In contrast, the more modest "standards" reform has been limited to the core goals of the OBE programs:

Local News Headlines Online Charter School Standards Prompt Concern
Lawmakers are taking another look at rules governing online charter schools, including area online schools, as the digital alternative to bricks-and-mortar classrooms continues to grow in Ohio. Rep. Kevin DeWine, a suburban Dayton Republican, said he's heard concerns from some superintendents about students abusing the online school system. A story from the AP says, DeWine said he may introduce provisions into the state budget that would add regulations such as requiring frequent contact with teachers. "I'm concerned about the number of e-schools and the number of kids going to e-schools, whether they're getting the kind of daily interaction from a certified teacher that can assure us they're getting a quality education," DeWine said Monday. About 15,800 of Ohio's 1.8 million schoolchildren attend online schools. They are among the state's 62,000 charter school students. Of online charter students, about 28 percent attend the 37 digital schools sponsored by traditional public schools. That includes students at TRECA Digital, sponsored by the Tri-Rivers Career Center in Marion. The rest attend three privately run online schools, according to Department of Education data. Two years ago the state had only 10 online schools, six of them sponsored by traditional public schools. The new digital schools are part of the growing number of charter schools sponsored by traditional public school districts. This year, 44 districts are sponsoring a total of 57 charter schools, the department said.
