Isanti County Family Services licenses family child care homes in Isanti County. Child care licensing is required when persons are providing care for children outside the limits of legally unlicensed providers. The State of Minnesota has set minimum standards for licensing that are defined in Minnesota Rule 9502.0300 to 9502.0445 If you have further questions, about becoming a licensed child care provider, or would like to report a complaint, please contact the Isanti licensor at 763-689-1711.
FAMILY CHILD CARE
Family child care licensing regulates child care providers in a setting other than a child care center, usually the provider’s residence, for fewer than 24 hours per day. Family child care is licensed under DHS Rule 2 (Licensing of Family Child Care Facilities). The rule addresses, among other requirements: licensing of homes for family child care and group family child care, licensing process, negative licensing actions, agency records, caregiver qualifications, licensed capacity, child/adult ratios, age distribution requirements, age distribution restrictions, reporting agency, day care training, behavior guidance, admissions, provider records, reporting, activities and equipment, physical environment, sanitation and health, water, food and nutrition. Child Care Licensing
A licence is required under the Child Care Licensing Act to operate a child care program that provides care for seven or more children except for:
  • An education program provided under the School Act; A day camp, vacation camp or other recreational program that operates for less than 12 consecutive weeks; Supervision of children at a recreational facility, retail centre or other commercial establishment where the parents of the children remain on the premises and are available; or Private babysitting in a private home for six children or less. The caregiver’s own children are not included in these six.. Approved family day homes are not required to be licensed as they are monitored by the family day home agency.

Through our licensing and field based compliance program, our office seeks to promote a child care environment:
  • that is affordable and accessible to children of all ages; where children receive safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate care; where child care providers are of good moral character and encouraged to become career professionals; where parents have the information and skills needed to make appropriate child care choices; where our office works together with parents, employers, providers, schools, and other community organizations, to accomplish and maintain high quality standards of care.
Licensing Programs The Office of the City Clerk licenses all child care providers operating within city limits. In order to gain and maintain a child care license in good standing, a provider must undergo a FBI background check, complete annual approved training in child development and CPR, maintain a two year certification in pediatric first-aid, comply with all health, building, and fire codes, and maintain proper adult-to-child supervision ratio's. Our licenses are divided into three distinct categories: Family Home  1-6 children Group Home 7-12 children Commercial Center 13 or more children or home that is not owner's primary residence Fire Safety Print the Annual Checklist for your facility

      The Department of Children and Families, Child Care Services Program Office, is statutorily responsible for the administration of child care licensing and training throughout Florida. The purpose of this program is to ensure that children are well cared for in a safe, healthy, positive and educational environment by trained, qualified child care staff. This program currently regulates licensed child care facilities, licensed family day care homes, licensed large family child care homes, and licensed mildly ill facilities in 61 of the 67 counties in Florida. In addition, the child care services program office administers the registration of family day care homes not required to be licensed.

Licensing Service Information Oklahoma Child Care Services: Providers Service Information The Child Care Facilities Licensing Act defines programs that are required to be licensed. Each program has their own minimum licensing requirements for the protection of children's health, safety and well-being. Requirements exist that cover child care centers, family child care homes and large child care homes, part-day programs, and school-age programs, summer day camps, residential child care facilities, and child placing agencies.
    Programs exempt from licensure include: care provided in a child's own home or by relatives, informal arrangements for the occasional care of children, programs in which children attend on a drop-in basis and parents are on the premises and readily accessible, single activity programs, and programs operating for 15 hours or less per week.
