    Children Jokes...
A little boy was in a relative's wedding. As he was coming down the aisle he would take two steps, stop and turn to the crowd (alternating between bride's side and groom's side). While facing the crowd, he would put his hands up like claws and roar. So it went, step, step, “ROAR,” step, step, “ROAR,” all the way down the aisle. As you can imagine, the crowd was near tears from laughing so hard by the time he reached the pulpit. The little boy, however, was getting more and more distressed from all the laughing, and was also near tears by the time he reached the pulpit. When asked what he was doing, the child sniffed and said, "I was being the Ring Bear."
    Religion Jokes...
The elderly pastor was cleaning up his office one Friday morning. In the back of the office, he found a small box containing 3 eggs and 100 $1 bills. He showed his secretary the box to ask her about the box and its contents. Embarrassed, she admitted having hidden the box there for the last 25 years. Disappointed and hurt, the pastor asked her, "WHY?" The secretary replied that she hadn't wanted to hurt his feelings. He asked her how the box could have hurt his feelings. She said that every time that he had delivered a poor sermon, she had placed an egg in the box. The pastor felt that 3 poor sermons in 25 years was certainly nothing to feel bad about, so he asked her what the $100 was for. She replied, "Each time I got a dozen eggs, I sold them to the neighbours for $1."

Jewish Festivals Calendar of Religious Festivals Judaism is the oldest of the world's four biggest monotheistic religions (religions with only one god). It's also the smallest, with only about 12 million followers around the world. Jewish history begins with the covenant established between God and Abraham around 1812 BC (over years ago), during the Bronze Age, in the Middle East.
The Torah (Jewish Law), the primary document of Judaism, was given to the Jews by the Prophet Moses (Moshe) about years ago. The Jewish calendar starts with the day when Adam and Eve were created (the Sixth Day of Creation). This year (2010) is on the Jewish Calendar. It starts with Rosh HaShanah, the two day Jewish New Year. From September 2010, the Jewish Calendar will be 5771. Lovely Picture Book Introduces Children to Legend of Orpheus
Orpheus and Eurydice by Sybil Grafin Schonfeldt, illustration by Iassen Ghiuselev, translated by Pauline Hejl (J. Paul Getty Museum) The tales of Orpheus have figured prominently in the arts throughout the ages. From ancient poems by Aeschylus and Euripedes, to countless sculptures and paintings, to movies celebrating his master musicianship, the legend of Orpheus has been revisited time and time again. Now, in a beautifully illustrated version of the Greek myth, the story of Orpheus and Eurydice is retold for children. Orpheus and Eurydice traces the young life of Orpheus, son of the muse, Calliope. Raised by the muses and the nymphs and taught to play the lyre by Apollo, Orpheus grows up surrounded by song and dance. So enchanting is his gift for music that even wild animals, trees, and rocks are charmed. When his marriage to the oak nymph Eurydice is foiled by her sudden death, Orpheus ventures to the shadowy realm of Hades, god of the Underworld, hoping to bring back his true love. In tender song, so powerful that even the ghosts are brought to tears, Orpheus makes his plea to Hades. MORALITY AND RELIGION
Can we raise moral children without religion?
by Richard Packham Religionists often insist, as almost the last argument in favor of religion, that - whether religion is "true" or not - it is absolutely essential as a moral basis for our society and as something that children need in order to grow up as decent adults. In my autobiographical material, however, I point out that my wife and I have raised two sons, now adults, as atheists, and without any religious training whatsoever. They are fine, honest, kind, and loving men. Many people who have decided that perhaps they no longer actually believe the theological claims of religion, write to me and ask how that was possible for us. They hesitate to abandon religion completely, out of fear that they will have no way to teach their children to distinguish between right and wrong. This article is based on my reply to such an inquiry. One of the things fundamentally wrong with any moral system based on religious belief, in my opinion, is that it prevents you from developing a truly workable morality or ethic of your own, and prevents you from being able to adapt to unusual challenging moral questions. For the believer, what is right and wrong is very simple: whatever God says is right is right, and whatever God says is wrong is wrong. And the scriptures or the prophets can tell you what God says. So, the believer does not steal simply because it is a sin; he does not lie because it is a sin; he does not work on the Sabbath because it is a sin; he does not eat pork because it is a sin, etc. There is no examining
