People with ME/CFS are so run down that it interferes with their lives and can make it hard to function at all. Some people with ME/CFS say they have trouble staying on top of their responsibilities at home and on the job, while others are severely disabled and even bedridden. Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome
Chronic fatigue immune dysfunction syndrome is a serious illness that is difficult to diagnose and difficult to treat. The illness, as the name implies, is a long lasting fatigue that is not cured by rest. It can include other symptoms, ranging from impaired memory or concentration to muscle pain and headaches. A sore throat with tender lymph nodes is also common for those who suffer from chronic fatigue immune dysfunction syndrome. If you have these symptoms, it is important to eliminate other illnesses that you could have. Due to the nature of chronic fatigue immune dysfunction syndrome, you must eliminate other possible illnesses before you can determine if you suffer from this disorder. Because of this, the disorder is not well understood, which further hampers treatment. For those suffering from these symptoms, it is important that you go to your doctor as soon as possible. Without treatment, only 5 percent of individuals afflicted recover enough to return to full functionality. With treatment, your chances are increased to over thirty-five percent. There are many different treatments used for chronic fatigue immune dysfunction syndrome, due to the fact there is no known fully successful cure.

    -  decreased concentration levels
    -  disturbed sleep patterns
    -  incapacitating pain
    -  increased sensitivity to light, smell, sound and touch
    -  decline in clarity and coherence of speech
    -  memory impairment
    -  muscle weakness and spasms
    -  severe fatigue
    -  stomach and digestive problems For a lucky few the illness has limited effect, but others experience major disruption to their lifestyle and may become house or bed-bound and totally reliant on their carers for months or years. Some sufferers make a slow recovery to near optimum health, others make a partial recovery and may suffer relapses, others remain seriously affected by the chronic illness for many years. Lightning Process Advanced Practitioner describes his unique approach to recovery
Interested in the Lightning Process? If you've already heard of the Lightning Process training programme, or you are just finding out about Chronic Fatigue recovery, I invite you to read on. I'm Russell Stubbs and for ten years I have been helping people to optimise their health. I specialise in recovery from chronic illness. As well as being an experienced therapist, I am one of only twenty Lightning Process Advanced Practitioners. Along with teaching the Lightning Process, I also provide additional resources for all of my clients - at no extra cost. You'll notice that my approach is different to most practitioners and hopefully you will understand why. Imagine a life without Chronic Fatigue Syndrome! I'd like to show you how you can say a final goodbye to the debilitating fatigue and those endless physical symptoms for once and for all. Imagine entering a new phase in your life where the whole subject of chronic fatigue syndrome or ME becomes a thing of the past. Where you gain trust in your body and your ability to do whatever you like, whenever you please - without having to pay the price afterwards. This might seem unbelievable from where you are right now - but, it is possible and I'd like to show you how. Balance your system to encourage healing The secret to full and lasting recovery is to bring your system into a new level of balance - and keep it there. By doing just this, you learn to activate your own healing mechanism. The symptoms of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and M.E. are directly linked to the stress response. Stress causes chemical changes that suppress your immune system and prevent you from healing. When you learn to consistently reduce your stress levels, you will be influencing your chemistry in a positive way. This becomes the key to bringing all your bodily systems into balance.

Saturday November 13, 2010 Many people with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome are also diagnosed with, or come to believe they have, adrenal fatigue. Recently, information put out by The Hormone Foundation (which is part of the Endocrine Society) created a lot of stir by stating that adrenal fatigue is not a valid diagnosis. The case against adrenal fatigue appears in a PDF titled "Myth vs. Fact: Adrenal Fatigue." The fact sheet states: "The term 'adrenal fatigue' has been used to explain

    Causes
The exact cause of chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) is unknown. Some researchers suspect it may be caused by a virus, such as Epstein-Barr virus or human herpes virus-6 (HHV-6). However, no specific virus has been identified as the cause. Studies suggest that CFS may be caused by inflammation along the nervous system, and that this inflammation may be some sort of immune response or process. Other factors such as age, prior illness, stress, environment, or genetics may also play a role. CFS most commonly occurs in women ages 30 to 50. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) describes CFS as a distinct disorder with specific symptoms and physical signs, based on ruling out other possible causes. The number of persons with CFS is unknown. CFS is diagnosed after the health care provider rules out other possible causes of fatigue, including:
