Welcome to the Church of Scientology of Pasadena Its founder, L. Ron Hubbard, drew upon the wisdom of the religions and philosophies of the last 50,000 years, and applied modern scientific methods to isolate the fundamental laws of life. The purpose of the Scientology religion is to enable you to achieve a happier life based upon spiritual values. The Church of Scientology Pasadena is one of thousands of churches and centers and is part of the fastest-growing religious movement in the world. How Does the Scientology Religion Work? Scientology precepts address the individual as a spiritual being. It consists of practical, workable techniques you can apply to increase your observation, certainty and understanding of yourself and life. The Scientology religion is something that you do , rather than a doctrine you believe in. A maxim in Scientology is that only those things you find true for yourself are true. In learning and using Scientology Training on How to Help Others Application of Scientology philosophy enables you to improve conditions in your own life and the lives of those you care about.

    Your Personality
    Determines Your Happiness.
Know Why? Fill Out this FREE Personality Test and find out. Ever seen one of these, maybe slipped into your mailbox or tucked under a windshield wiper blade? It's a one-sheet, multiple-choice, 200-question exam. The quiz resembles an extremely watered-down version of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory, which itself is fundamentally bogus. You are instructed to answer every question by checking one of three boxes (for yes, no, maybe). Then you are treated to 200 questions, such as:
    • Are you a slow eater?
    • Do you often ponder your own inferiority?
    • When recounting some amusing incident can you easily imitate the mannerisms or the dialect in the original incident?
Based on yes-no-maybe responses to incisive questions like these, it is possible to develop a detailed snapshot of your psychological makeup and take full stock of your crippling inadequacies. You're supposed to fill it out and send it back to a regional testing center (conveniently, it's even postage-paid). And then, a few days later, you'll receive a phone call inviting you to a local branch office to watch a videotape and go over your results. When you come in for that face-to-face meeting, invariably the upshot is that you are a total mess. Your life peaked a long time ago, and it's been getting progressively worse. You need help... a lot of it, and fast. But don't despair the same group who scored your exam is perfectly happy to sit down with you and explain what you need to solve those problems and reach your full potential. Which is: join the Church of Scientology.

    45. The Church Of Scientology Vs. Keith Henson

The Church of Scientology vs. Keith Henson
This page created by Ron Newman
Last revised on Saturday, May 4, 1996; a few links updated on March 24, 1997. On April 4, 1996, the Church of Scientology filed a federal lawsuit against Keith Henson. The first hearing was held Friday, April 12 at Judge Ronald Whyte's court in San Jose, California; here's a transcript of the hearing . This hearing is also described at great length in the April 14 issue of Shelley Thomson's **Biased Journalism** Lawyers for the Chruch of Scientology are scheduled to depose Keith on Wednesday, May 8. They have filed a broad, sweeping "Demand for the Production of Documents and Things", asking Henson to provide, among other things, copies of all correspondence between him and Electronic Frontier Foundation lawyers Mike Godwin and Shari Steele. See the April 19 issue of **Biased Journalism** for details. This page will eventually contain more details; meanwhile, here are some documents to look at.
    • A letter Keith Henson sent to Judge Whyte on March 26 , in the Grady Ward case . Four days later, after Judge Whyte's clerk assured Keith that he was not subject to Grady Ward's temporary restraining order, Keith also posted a copy of this letter to alt.religion.scientology and several other newsgroups. The original version of Keith's letter (which I've expurgated) contained a complete copy of a CoS document known as "NOTS 34" or "HCO BULLETIN OF 14 NOVEMBER 1978". Henson claims that "NOTS 34" is evidence that CoS is violating US laws against practicing medicine without a license, and thus the public interest demands that the document be disclosed.

    46. The Church Of Scientology Vs. The Net
Journal of the events involving net-denizens and the Church of Scientology occurring in 1995 and 1996.
    http://www.thecia.net/users/rnewman/scientology/home.html
This page created by Ron Newman . Small changes made on February 14, 1998. The opinions expressed here are solely those of the author, and are not necessarily shared by Complete Internet Access, Inc.
The Church of Scientology is a religious cult which has unwisely decided to declare war against the Usenet and Internet communities. Since December of 1994, this Church and its followers have committed numerous acts that are hostile to the spirit of free speech on the Net. This web page is intended to document these activities.
    NOTICE TO READERS
My apologies for the length of time this page has been unavailable to the Net , and even more apologies for the fact that I've not substantially updated it since October 15, 1996. I'm no longer able to keep up with events on a day-to-day basis, so this site is probably going to have to remain a "historical" document rather than a source of up-to-date news. For a more conscientiously updated site, I recommend Andreas Heldal-Lund's Operation Clambake page, which contains both later news and pointers to many of Scientology's Secret Scriptures. Many of you may be wondering why I'm no longer at Cybercom.net. The reason is that on May 15, 1997, Cybercom deleted my account, all my web pages, and all of my private files, without any notice whatsoever. I had to file a lawsuit to get my files back and my mail and web pages forwarded. For more information, visit this page:

Churches are staffed by dedicated Scientologists who leave their homes each morning knowing that when they return in the evening they will have spent the day helping their fellows become happier and freer. In a thoroughly materialistic and often cold world, there are not many who can claim such personal satisfaction.
The church literally is always there, and Scientologists count on it as a stable reference point in their lives. They know that when they need something, their church always will be there to help them.

Welcome to the Church of Scientology of Pretoria Scientology Founder, L. Ron Hubbard, stated: Do you ever get fed up with the scandal, death and destruction that dominates the news? Do you wish you could DO something about it? Something that would really HELP? When Scientologist Lorraine Baritz of Boston was called to the hospital by friends whose 13-year-old son was in a coma and on life-support four days after a severe motorcycle accident, she knew exactly what she had to do to help. News of the recovery traveled through the hospital, reaching others standing vigil by their own children. A couple with an infant son in a coma asked for help. Again Lorraine answered the call. The outcome was reported in the local Boston newspaper: Stories like these are commonplace, anything but common in a world where people are searching for answers on how to provide real and lasting help to others. Individual Scientology Volunteer Ministers come from all walks of life, and work to help family, friends and strangers in many situations and circumstances: relationship problems or questions, anxiety, tutoring a child in learning skills, teen stress, self-esteem, helping a family member overcome alcohol or drug dependency, guiding a criminally inclined adolescent back onto the road to self-respect and honesty, resolving a dispute at work or at home, helping an associate to better organize his life or handle symptoms of stress.

    INTRODUCTION
In recent years some controversy has arisen regarding Scientology in some sectors in Europe, particularly in Germany, which seem to misinterpret the real social intentions of this religious group. From the viewpoint of someone who knows philosophy and religion there is no question of any polemic, but it is easy to understand that the lack of knowledge of the religious phenomenon as a whole and the variety of the possible manifestations of this phenomenon can unjustly lead to antagonistic and intransigent attitudes.
