During the administration of William Jefferson Clinton, the U.S. enjoyed more peace and economic well being than at any time in its history. He was the first Democratic president since Franklin D. Roosevelt to win a second term. He could point to the lowest unemployment rate in modern times, the lowest inflation in 30 years, the highest home ownership in the country's history, dropping crime rates in many places, and reduced welfare rolls. He proposed the first balanced budget in decades and achieved a budget surplus. As part of a plan to celebrate the millennium in 2000, Clinton called for a great national initiative to end racial discrimination. After the failure in his second year of a huge program of health care reform, Clinton shifted emphasis, declaring "the era of big government is over." He sought legislation to upgrade education, to protect jobs of parents who must care for sick children, to restrict handgun sales, and to strengthen environmental rules. President Clinton was born William Jefferson Blythe III on August 19, 1946, in Hope, Arkansas, three months after his father died in a traffic accident. When he was four years old, his mother wed Roger Clinton, of Hot Springs, Arkansas. In high school, he took the family name.

Well apparently other legal scholars disagree, or you would have seen such action. Even Pelosi knew she wouldn't have the traction or support for such a thing.

The apathy derived of conditioned ignorance.
But so very few issues are ever so bipolar as to be able to declare in all confidence the solution is absolutely one way or the other. Except perhaps to say that American politics as a whole is dysfunctional to the extreme, for the little people who foot the bill.

Welcome to this issue of the Minuteman Monthly Newsletter . This is the monthly communication from my Web site at www.SaveTheGuns.com . Thank you for reading this month's issue and for passing it on to a friend. Do you find it simply outrageous that Washington D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty and the Washington D.C. City Council insist upon maintaining unconstitutional ordinances in the D.C. City Code? Do you find it disgraceful that they insist upon keeping semi-automatic handguns banned within the District of Columbia and are classifying them as "machine guns"? Are you angry that the D.C. Mayor and City Council vow to maintain their trigger-lock ordinance unless one has reasonable and immediate belief that their lives may be in danger? Do you find it unconscionable that the City of Chicago is maintaining their own ban on handguns, despite the clear June 26th decision in D.C. v Heller? Are you frustrated that the City of Chicago and Mayor Richard M. Daley are thumbing their nose at the United States Supreme Court and defying the United States Constitution, as well as the Founding Fathers themselves? Do you find it disgraceful for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to keep their mandatory trigger lock legislation in place, despite the ruling in D.C. v Heller? Do you find it deplorable that pro-gun groups such as the NRA, SAF, GOA, JPFO and more have had to file lawsuits in court to get them to obey the Bill of Rights that they've all sworn to uphold and defend?

We need a new government for a new centuryhumble enough not to try to solve all our problems for us, but strong enough to give us the tools to solve our problems for ourselves; a government that is smaller, lives within its means, and does more with less.
