Art created by people using computers is developing an increasing presence in every aspect of our society. Artists have always taken advantage of new developments in technology, yet the computer serves as a "meta" tool, one which emulates other tools. At Uni, students have been challenged to find out what the computer can do that can't be done in any other traditional media. The images that follow are examples of individual student exploration.(Most work has been created using Adobe Photoshop 3.0 on the Apple Power Macintosh. Other methods will include Alias/Wavefront on an SGI Indy Workstation) (note: if things do not look right, please open up your viewing window to its maximum size. thank you.)

It is possible to generate these images at very large, poster size resolutions. I have a set of 3 of them that Sarah and I thought worked well together printed and framed at 18"x18" in our house. If you are interested in prints or high resolution digital versions of any of these images, feel free to email me (roice@gravitation3d.com Also, please check back soon. I've got a lot more of these I haven't posted yet. I've played some with different shapes, varying hues, and different constraints on the pattern parameters, with some really wonderful results! About Toon-FX
Toon-FX, LC. is a software company whose products allow users to automatically create abstract representations of their digital media. Our goal is to enhance your daily cyber-rituals, such as email and chatting, by providing you with software to make your images and video more interesting and informative.
At the core of our technology is a real-time video and image abstraction framework. The framework processes images and video to increase the contrast of visually important features while decreasing the contrast in non-interesting areas in a way that creates "Toon-FX." In the case of video, our cartoon-like effects preserve the smooth transitions between individual frames.
The story of Toon-FX is the Computer Geek version of the American Dream. A group of folks with a shared vision of making the world a cooler place write some computer code and some graphic novels, then set up shop in cyberspace and with a little luck make enough money to quit their day jobs.

Adjust font-size: Published October 16, 2007 by: Lori Voth View Profile Follow Add to Favorites ... Digital Art So the bug has finally gotten you. The digital art work bug, that is. You held out for as long as you could but the time has finally come to make the grand switch from traditional canvas artwork to that of the technological, up to date, computer generated art pieces.
Giving in to technology is tough. It is likely you've decided to make the switch because it has become too blatant to deny the fact that digital art work takes less time and allows you more capabilities than working traditionally with canvas artwork.. It was pretty easy to be stubborn all this time and stick with the old fashioned ways while your peers and associates were busy comparing notes on advanced Adobe Photoshop graphic rendering tools but you realized giving in was the best idea for you. It will no doubt save you time, energy and money in the long run, so don't worry about whether you are making the right decision. What you really need to concern yourself with is catching up to your competitors and learning the computer digital art work practice.

Amazon.com Widgets Steven Stahlberg (~1960-). This is a odd costume. On the surface, it has oriental flavor, in particular the girl's hairdo, the mahogany and gold color, the style of some of the embroidery. But look again, there's the garter belt, the rapier, the sleeves. The girl herself has a Eurasian look, but one eye blue and one brown (called Heterochromia iridium). “cat and mouse”. “one last time”. I can imagine the girl cooing: “Nice snaky, nice snaky”. A realization of a “monobike”. Although as a 3D rendering this is great, but the picture content lowers the overall art. Such a monobike is a product of unthoughtful science fantasy — preposterous in the ergonomics department. Her neck would tire in a minute, her back aching, her thighs tire of hugging, her feet fall out, her tits squashed, eyes squashed by bugs, and she'd fly off wild.
