Healthy And Faster Cooking: Microwave Ovens Are Here To Help
Microwave ovens provide a fast, healthy and convenient mode of cooking. Be it in your home, a restaurant, vending spots or a five-star hotel…kitchens of the modern day are incomplete without a microwave oven. This appliance has changed the way of traditional cooking which was until now not only time consuming, but also very messy. By setting cooking time and intensity of heat, you can avoid over-cooking and thus preserve the nutrients and freshness of the food as well. There are pre-set menu items in the ovens and many cooking options too. The Latest Features Of Microwave Ovens The new age microwave ovens are made of a stainless steel body, which makes them more durable and easier to clean. So you can cook faster, there is lesser mess and lots of choice when it comes to selecting the cooking method. Besides, you can do regular cooking, you can defrost frozen eatables very quickly, you can bake a cake or cookies, and you can grill sandwiches, veggies or anything else of your choice. Most of these ovens consume 1000 watts of electricity an hour and are suitable for both homes as well as for restaurants. The capacity of these ovens varies from 20 liters to 34 liters.

The microwave oven revolutionized the way people cooked and reheated food in the United States. The speed with which it could heat was unprecedented and it coincided with a cultural search for convenience. As more women joined the workforce and people started working longer hours, food became something that people wanted on the table with as little effort as possible and the microwave fed that desire perfectly. Even people who have owned and used microwave ovens for years often do not use the full range of its capabilities. Many people use it exclusively for reheating leftovers, making microwave popcorn and heating frozen entrees. The following tips and techniques for microwave cooking should help every home cook from novice to expert. Steaming One of the cooking techniques for which the microwave oven is best is steaming. Since steaming is one of the best cooking techniques for preserving the nutrients in the food you eat, this is a great asset. You can steam vegetables with a minimal amount of added water. Simply slice any fresh vegetable (you can also steam frozen vegetables) into a microwave safe bowl or container. Add approximately one teaspoon of water per cup of uncooked vegetables and cover the container tightly with plastic wrap. When you heat the vegetables at full power, the water will form steam that will help cook your vegetables. Vegetables can be lightly steamed to retain their crispness or cooked for a longer duration for well-done versions.
