Reference Museums History ... Costumes Welcome to The Costume Page, my personal library of costume and costuming-related links. I'm sharing it for the benefit of those who study and/or make costumes: costumers, students, historical re-enactors, science fiction fans, professionals, amateurs, dancers, theatrical costumers, trick-or-treaters, writers, researchers, and all those interested in fashion, textile art, and costume history. There are over 1,000 unique links listed on these pages. Some of them cover more than one area of interest. I recommend that you browse through all sections of The Costume Page if you don't immediately find what you're seeking. I've tried to cross-reference where possible, but you're likely to find some additional gems if you dig! Interested in advertising on The Costume Page

The History of Costuming All About Masquerades The International Costumers' Guild (ICG) Community Forums ... Recent Updates Welcome! Costuming.org was started in hopes of giving serious costumers an online community. With cosplay having huge dedicated website communities, and an emphasis on showing off photos and instant gratification, we felt a need for a community more closely focused on our favourite part of the hobby - the making of costumes. We also wanted to try to connect younger costumers who communicate primarily via the web to the established costuming communities such as the ICG. Our wish is to make this a community about the actual *costuming* aspect of costumes for ALL genres. This is a place to discuss all types of costuming, share pretty costumes, discuss their problems and progress, inspiration, costume photos, useful links, and talk about actual construction and technical/visual aspects of costuming. Are you interested in costuming for the sake of costuming? if yes, then you're probably in the right place. :) Join us on our discussion forums - if you're stumped on how to build something, have a problem with your sewing machine, are trying to find a specific kind of fabric, chances are we'll be able to help you.

    Schedule Changes To Date
Mascots and Body Morphing Panel Our Mascots and Body Morphing Panel has been canceled due to scheduling conflicts. Dress Forms Workshop Molds for Every Costuming Occasion Workshop DragonCon was unable to secure a sponsor to support our two hands-on workshops this year: Dress Forms and Molds for Every Costuming Occasion. Therefore, we will be doing these as demonstration panels. However, as a compromise during the Dress Forms Panel, anyone that brings their own supplies may participate in the hands-on portion by creating the start of a custom-fit dress form. Please bring in a tight-fitting t-shirt (worn and then cut up later,) a spare top to wear once the original t-shirt is cut away, and a roll of duct tape in your favorite color. We also ask that you please let the panelists know upon arrival that you have supplies to make your own dress form so that they may position you within the room accordingly.
