ARE YOU BEING STALKED?
http://www.kimsawareness.com/ Most everyone has experienced a painful break-up at one point in their lives, so it is easy to sympathize with someone else who is having difficulty letting go – who continues phoning, or sending flowers, letters, and gifts to an estranged partner in an attempt to reconcile with him/her. Many of us have also had romantic crushes on another person, so we can relate to the kinds of tactics people sometimes use to get the attention of their objects of affection. When you are on the receiving end of these types of pursuit, it can be very flattering; but, when it crosses an invisible line, and makes you feel increasingly uneasy, then that is your instinct telling you something very important – that you are being stalked, and you might very well be in danger.

Canadian Crime Stoppers Launches Tips via Text Message
Anonymous text messaging joins the fight against crime The Canadian Crime Stoppers Association, in collaboration with Anderson Software, today added an exciting new tool to its arsenal in combating crime. Beginning today, Canadians in most major urban centres will have the ability to anonymously text message their tips to Canadian Crime Stoppers at CRIMES (274637). This new program will allow cell phone users to make anonymous tips when voice calls may not always be possible or safe. Today’s announcement coincides with a launch of similar programs in the US and the UK. TipSoft, developed by Texas-based Anderson Software, will allow text messaging informants to remain anonymous. This service assigns an encrypted alias to all identifying information, maintaining the tipster’s complete anonymity. This program also allows Crime Stoppers to respond by text message to the originating cell phone without ever knowing the tipster’s identity. “In Canada, we are delighted to now have the capability to receive tips via text message, “ said Ralph Page, Chair of the Canadian Crime Stoppers Association.

AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT CRIME PREVENTION INITIATIVES
Welcome to the Australian Government's crime prevention and community safety web site. Crime, and the fear of crime, consistently rate amongst the highest concerns of the Australian public. The Australian Institute of Criminology has estimated that crime costs Australia around $32 billion per year. The Australian Government shares the community's concern about crime and violence and their impact on people's lives. Although the States and Territories have primary responsibility for the criminal justice system, since 1996 the Australian Government has undertaken a range of substantial initiatives aimed at reducing the incidence of violence and other crime in Australia. This web site outlines some of the Australian Government's major initiatives in this area. If you would like any additional information on crime prevention matters or funding under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 crimeprevention@ag.gov.au or telephone (02) 6141 2711.

Update on student rally violence
Nick Herbert has spoken to parliament about the police response to yesterday's central London protest and condemned minority who carried out criminal acts. The policing minister today told parliament that the Metropolitan Police will carry out a thorough review of its response to yesterday's outbreak of violence in central London. At a peaceful demonstration by the National Union of Students, a violent faction caused significant damage to Conservative Campaign Headquarters at Millbank. 'Yesterdays protest and the policing did not go to plan and the police will learn the lessons,' Nick Herbert told parliament. 'But the blame and responsibility for yesterday's appalling scenes of violence lies squarely and solely with those who carried it out.'

Contact Us The Citizens Crime Committee members of Deer Lake,NL.CA. says. The Deer Lake Citizens Crime Prevention Committee has been in existence for approximately nine years now and since then we have been trying to answer questions, or analyze answers to questions ,that have been asked for years;" why do people want to steal what others have worked so hard to aquire honestly? Why do certain individuals feel a need to bully their way through life? Why do certain people want to destroy beautification projects in a municipality?
The answers to these questions have been answered, somewhat, by psychiatrists and data derived from years of case histories from law enforcement agencies.
We have been provided with the reasons that most of these criminal acts occur and our existence stems from a need to offer law enforcement agencies much needed assistance in educating the public, not from our expertise or experience in any particular matter, but by offering another avenue in which to channel information to young people about the need to be their own person and not be easily led by a few who are looking for an easy life, at that persons expense, and ultimately leading them down a road of destruction where the return path could take a lifetime.
