I have a lot of vintage patterns that I have't seen elsewhere. Here are a few- Sources are noted. Many are from The Complete Book of Crochet , edited by Elizabeth Mathieson, Greystone Press, 1946. Many have also appeared in more than one place. Some are from torn old leaflets I don't know how to cite. I have recently acquired the very cool "Make Your Own Teenage Clothes and Gifts," and I hope to add somethings from there soon. Kitchen Blankets and Bedding Placemats and Luncheon Sets Doilies ... Other Fun I love to make things, but I like to make cool things, and although I know that cool is relative, I am discouraged by the glut of country angel piglet toilet paper cozies*... so what's a girl to do? Crochet Treasures
Old crochet patterns are a lot easier to find on the web than they used to be... this site is one of the first and best ones I found. Celts Crochet
One of the biggest. Doilies, afgans, tablecloths, bedspreads, chairsets (including one called the "spread eagle." really.) Notable for its selection of icky yet wonderful 50's kitchen items. about.com

    http://www.prettyimpressivestuff.com/crochet/
First, let me say that I have been crocheting since I was a little girl. A friend's mother taught me how to make a granny square and that was all I needed for about ten years! In college, I discovered patterns and learned how to do them. I also added thread crochet to the mix. Although I have crocheted for money in the past, this is strictly a hobby for me. I do not sell my work or supplies or patterns. This is strictly an informational site. Why Do Dogs Eat Wood
Pet dogs will be seen eating grasses, rocks and rotten things with gusto. Humans would naturally find rotting things and feces disgusting. Dog owners would naturally prefer to have a wood eating pet than one that has the inclination to feast on feces and rotting animals. Although less disgusting, the habit of eating wood must be stopped as well. Not only would it be very expensive for an owner to buy new furniture but the habit of eating wood can have dangerous repercussions on the life of the pet as splinters can perforate the throat or the intestines. It is therefore necessary to understand why dogs eat wood. The wood eating habit of the pet must be stopped. Bored dogs will eat wood. Being social animals, dogs would crave interaction with the family and if no opportunity is provided the dog will be bored and become destructive. Eating wood is one of the ways by which a dog can get the attention of the family. It is believed that dogs would eat wood if the diet is deficient in nutrients. To correct the imbalance in the system, the dog would eat wood. A pet owner can easily prevent the dog from eating wood. Give the pet more attention. A premium quality dog food would be more expensive but surely it would be a more viable option than having to replace the furniture continuously. Find out more about why dogs eat wood and first aid for dogs at November 6th, 2010

    Stylish Antique Crochet Patterns
    From a Bygone Era
Antique crochet patterns have experienced a huge increase in demand as part of the revival of crochet as a fun and relaxing hobby Nostalgia for past times and the ever revolving fashion cycle have contributed to the renewed popularity of this 19th century handcraft. Antique crochet has enormous character which is displayed in various forms and styles. It is no wonder that antique patterns are sought after by those looking to recreate classic items from a past era. Fortunately there were a lot of books, magazines and patterns published between 1850 and 1950 that have preserved the diversity of crochet creations that represent the peak period of this fun craft Many of these vintage crochet publications are very rare and expensive, putting them out of the reach of the average crocheter, although the exception is where material can be located in a library. Libraries in particular are good low cost sources of patterns. However, it generally takes a fair bit of time and effort to locate a suitable pattern.

This sewing susan can be crocheted in a jiffy. I like to sew and I love helpful little gadgets, especially handmade ones. A great project to make for a gift. All about Crochet
I have taken up the craft of crocheting as one of the relaxing activities of my days. And I have found it very rewarding. I had half-heartedly started to learn to crochet as a child, but I never had the patience to really learn. So once I finished school and saw the things that my sister created, I wanted to learn again. Well, I bought a crochet book, "Afghans for All Seasons", full of afghan patterns for my sister. Needless to say, as I looked at it more and more, I decided to try one of the patterns and being naive of the complexity of patterns choose one of the most difficult patterns. Well, I learn to crochet and finished that afghan after 2 years (took a year off to finish school so it really only took 1 year) in November 1998. My first project. When my sister came back home from her "work term" to continue school, she had bought the exact same book for herself. So now the book is mine, and I've become a crochet-aholic if you ask my family. You can see some pictures of some of the items that I made in my Crochet Albums I have one project that is half done (and probably won't be for a while since they have been put aside), which is a table runner in thread. I am currently working on the baby blanket for my coming baby, and a sweater for myself.
