Jardines del Rey, a Marvelous Cuban Landscape
Cuban nature counts on a wide amount of really marvelous places, protected and arranged for the demanding traveler. A truly feast for the senses and active vacations. A paradise site of the Cuban geography such as Cayo Coco is still the main attraction for tourists from all over the world, so have stated the tourism professionals that manage the Island as a destination.
Spokesperson from different tour operator agencies, pointed out right in time the values of that area in the Cuban middle-north region, with its unique place in the likes of thousand of people from the five continents, despite the fact that the western beach resort of Varadero is the most known of the Cuban leisure industry. A magical paradise, a Cuban celebration, as said by specialists, a cay of 370 squared kilometers, featuring lonely beaches and the intact memory of the way that land might have been in the origin.
There are legends and real facts and some of it was registered in the book Islas en el Golfo by the U.S. sailor and writer Ernest Hemingway who examined the place in a search for adventures. The area was named by the tourism authorities as Jardines del Rey, after the first name (Diego Velsquez, 1522), honoring the Spanish King at that moment Fernando El Catlico, due to the fact that sailors inquired in nature and used to write in their diaries. Cayo Coco is part of the Cuban province of Ciego de vila, more than 400 kilometres to the East of Havana, the Cuban capital; it is the main province where the carriers depart from.

GEOGRAPHY Cuba is an archipelago of two main islands, Cuba and Isla de la Juventud (Isle of Youth), and about 1,600 keys and islets. The island lies at 21 30 N, 80 00 W. The total area of 42,803 square miles (110,860 square kilometers) is nearly as large as Pennsylvania. Cuba lies approximately 90 miles (145 kilometers) south of the United States. The island of Cuba has about 2,335 miles of coastline with some 280 beaches. Over half of Cuba is made up of fertile flatlands, low hills, and valleys where cattle are grazed and sugarcane, coffee and tobacco are grown. The Oriental, Central and Occidental mountain ranges cover 25% of the country, and divide the country into three distinct ranges; west, center, and east . The highest peak, Pico Turquino, rises to 8,320 feet in the east. Cuba's longest river is the 343km Ro Cauto, although it's barely navigable, even for small boats. Tropical forests in the east contrast with central prairies and western hills and valleys, where the royal palm is the dominant tree. The North American and Caribbean tectonic plates meet in the 7200m deep Cayman Trench between Jamaica and Cuba, and the region is thus prone to earthquakes.

The Republic of Cuba is situated in the largest of the territories which form the Antilles or West Indies, located at the entrance to the Gulf of Mexico, between the Yucatn and Florida peninsulas. Its northern and western coasts are bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, and its southern shores by the Caribbean Sea. The Cuban archipelago has a surface area of 110,922 square kilometers and consists of the Island of Cuba, the Isle of Youth, more commonly known as the Isla de la Juventud, and more than 4,500 keys and islets. It is long and thin in shape, similar to an alligator. It is 1,250 kilometers in length, 193 kilometers at its widest point, and 32 kilometers at its narrowest. Cuba has almost 5,900 kilometers of coastline and hosts a wealth of beautiful beaches, especially on the northern coast Most of Cuba is flat, although there are also four large mountain ranges: the Cordillera de Guaniguanico, in the west; the heights of Trinidad-Sancti Spritus, in the centre; the Nipe-Sagua-Baracoa group; and the Sierra Maestra in the eastern region, where the highest peak in the country is found, the Pico Real del Turquino, at 1,974 meters above sea level.

    GEOGRAPHY
Cuba is the largest, most varied and most beautiful of the Greater Antilles islands. It is long and narrow, extending approximately 1,260 km east-west in length; its width ranges from 193 km to 32 km. No point in the Island is more than 80 km from the sea. Cuba's territory, or the Cuban Archipelago, includes the Island of Youth (Isla de la Juventud) and several coastal islets and cays; it covers a land area of 110,861 km2.
Cuba, often called the "Pearl of the Antilles," has a subtropical trade wind climate, adequate rainfall, significant mineral resources, and vast areas of level fertile land suitable for mechanized farming.
To the south of Matanzas is Cienaga de Zapata, known for its marshy lowlands where crocodiles are commercially raised. Also in this province is Varadero, known for its beaches of fine white sand, clear and transparent waters and comfortable resorts.
Santiago de Cuba, also rich in tradition and architectural treasures, is located on the south coast at the island's eastern end. The rugged topography of the Sierra Maestra, with elevations of up to 1,980 m above sea level, is unique in the island and famous for its sceneries of breath-taking beauty and unbelievable variety.
