MIAMI The Cuban government has released a list of people it calls terrorists. The list, containing 64 names, was released late Sunday by the Cuban Government and printed in the state controlled newspapers. If you live in Miami the list may contain the name of some one you know, or perhaps a relative certainly it contains someone you have seen on television or read about in the local papers. The list is the lead story on local talk radio, certainly on Spanish language television, and is getting mention on some English language newscasts. On it are the names of persons the Cuban Government regards as terrorists people who have participated in actions against the Island Nation in attempts to topple the Castro government. There is Luis Posada Carriles, who is jailed in Panama, accused of attempting to plant a bomb under Castro. There is Orlando Bosch, who is credited with blowing up a Cuban airliner. Also on the list Andres Nazario Sargen, who heads up Alpha 66, the group of aging exiles who once invaded the Island on a regular basis.

COMMUNIST INFLUENCE IN THE CUBAN GOVERNMENT 1. Intro due lion The objective of the Partido Socialiata Popular (PSP -Cuban Communist Party) at this time is to increase its control over Fidel Castro and his government without unduly emphasizing the existence of Communist Party members in official positions. Its tactics, therefore, are to conceal the membership, recruitment, or rcaffiliation of Party members who now occupy key positions in the government. This is in accord with the training in "legal and illegal activity'" which Communist Party leaders from Latin America have been given in Chinapitomizedecret training manual prepared by the CP China which states, in part, that: "All of the Party members who work in legaland institutions should patiently retain their legal positionong time, without revealing their Party affiliation. They should gain power in theand institutions in which they work and they should retain their legal position as long as necessary. "

    History of the Cuban Government
By Jason Chavis eHow Contributor updated: April 1, 2010 I want to do this! What's This? History of the Cuban Government Flag of Cuba; Public Domain The Cuban government has gone through a number of changes since the nation first gained its independence in the early part of the 20th century. Facing countless coups over the years, the military controlled much of the political process in the country until Fidel Castro seized power in 1959.
    Independence
  • Following its victory over Spain in the Spanish-American War in 1898, Cuba became a territory of the United States. President Theodore Roosevelt granted formal independence to the island on May 20, 1902.
  • Republic
  • The constitutional republic was maintained until the 1930s. The next two decades saw a number of coups that overthrew the nation's leaders on many occasions, many orchestrated by army leader Fulgencio Batista, who in turn eventually seized power in 1952.
  • Revolution
  • Fidel Castro led a insurrection against Batista beginning in 1956; in 1959, Batista fled the country for Portugal, and Castro seized the capital, where he was appointed prime minister.
