WELCOME
Humphrey came to live with us and our hearing Dalmatian, Alice , on Easter Saturday 2003. At that time we knew nothing about deaf dogs, however over the last years we have learnt a great deal and have discovered a wealth of resources available, but many have been hard to track down. This site aims to put together the information we have acquired. This includes extensive details about All Dalmatian Rescue who arranged Humphrey's adoption; our favourite hand signs ; a list of books training tips , and links to other sites, including links to sites that give information on deafness in dogs , and the BAER Hearing Test If you have any comments or suggestions on how to improve this site please contact us. We would also like to hear about the experience of owners of other deaf dogs. If you would like to give a deaf Dalmatian a home, need advice on caring for a deaf dog or have a deaf Dalmatian that needs to be re-homed, please contact

Welcome to CoDPuk (Children of Deaf Parents uk)
Welcome to our CoDPuk website and hope you enjoy browsing through the pages and seeing what we can offer children of deaf parents around the UK! We provide social opportunities for parents to get together with their children in a friendly environment where they can share their own parenting experiences and interests with others. Can you beat this gorgeous smile? Maya, one of our participants, thoroughly enjoyed being a right proper monkey and meeting other children at our recent Go Ape/Treasure Hunt event! It is very reassuring for these children to know that they are not the only children who have deaf parents and we ensure our events brings everyone together for a great time. Our next event is the infamous Christmas Party ! Don't miss out and book your family a fun afternoon together! Click here for more information

147.  The National Health Care Foundation For The Deaf--now Known As Deaf-REACH
Maximizes the self-sufficiency of socially and economically disadvantaged, multihandicapped deaf persons.

As it turned out, this was much easier said than done. Over 30 deaf patients were housed randomly throughout the hospital complex. Fortunately, the head of St. Elizabeths Hospital at that time recognized the problem this isolation created and established the Mental Health Program for the Deaf (MHPD), moving all of the deaf patients into one building.
As treatment for the deaf patients progressed, it soon became obvious to the leader of this new unit that there would be a need for a group home where people released from the hospital could live while adjusting to life in the community.
The steady growth of Deaf-REACH has continued and forced us to seek larger quarters in which to house our Community Service Center and administrative offices. In January 1991, newly renovated offices, located in the heart of Northeast Washington's Brookland community, were enthusiastically occupied. follow our site here
